I'd like to knit a pair of socks for someone I know who is Irish and patriotic. I'd like to knit with the colours of the Irish flag and stripes would be great. Does anyone know of a sock yarn and where I could get some easily? Many thanks.

Buy it white and dye it?

I found these (http://www.flickr.com/photos/audreyrobowen/2553751320/) on Flickr. Web of Wool do the yarn she used. She's on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/audreym/violet-green-sock-calculator-pattern-2) too, with more details of the yarn and the pattern.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had thought about dyeing some wool but couldn't quite be bothered. Instead I've ordered the same yarn as audreym. They look really nice together. I think I might do the same pattern.
