How about one of those "newspaper from your birthdate" type presents, or an ariel picture of where they live.

When it was my Mums 60th me and my sisiter bought her 60 presents, not exspensive stuff, but lots of littles things like her favourite chocs, mini perfumes, magazines, the sort of things she used every day, we also bought her a couple of larger items, and a balloon and a cake.

We wrapped them all separate them and numbered them 1 - 60 and made her pick numbered ball out of a bag to see in what order she opened them, but we made sure the cake was number 60.

Like I said a lot of the giftswere silly but it was the fact we had gone to all the trouble that made her day.

It didn't work out that dear either especially if you can club together with someone else.

If you do this it is a very good idea to keep a list of everything you buy.

What about a portrait of the family? All sorts of different styles are available. Or a picture of where he grew up or the church he got married in?
