Now that is a mega mega bonus, i go to most matches anyway never mind if it costs 27 quid i just have to go, so this is a proper Brucie bonus!!!
I can see us hitting some decent attendaces now with those prices, 30 thou plus when its a tenner for adults.

No excuses now for the stay aways.
A step in the right direction for Wednesday, it might be too late though, i think the current board are paying the price for sueing fans, raising ticket prices etc.
We'll see but affordable football is always nice.
It'll be the season ticket holders complaining next

Theyve all got work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stockers 24-11-2008, 15:49 Theyve all got work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many staff does a McDonalds need on a Saturday?
FINALLY they do something sensible!!
Although if i was a season ticket holder from the beginning of the season id be asking for some money back for all the discounted tickets i could have got.
So the reductions are just for the five games listed in the article (not a tenner per game for the rest of the season?) - not bad then, and not likely to get the season ticket holders' backs up too much (whereas if they said all games after January were a tenner, they would have a right to moan!).
It'd certainly make sense for Owls to make all of their remaining home games 'quid a kid', it's not like they'd be stopping others going as the ground isn't filling at the moment, and may start some youngsters on the road to being long term Owls fans (whether that's a good thing or not depends on your view of course!) :) If nothing else, might make some money on burgers and pies, etc.
Robbie Loving 24-11-2008, 17:13 Credit to Wednesday for sorting an initiative like this. However it is their fault for the poor attendances anyways with pricing issues in the first place.
This should see see 30k plus attendances for the Owls anyways.
SteveBlade 24-11-2008, 17:31 Mate whos an Owl wants to take me to the Norwich game on Saturday, only a squid so i might do, got nowt better do do :D
NERVY-OWL 24-11-2008, 17:39 finally, wednesday have done something useful to help fans, that will make that month abit cheaper:D 5 games aswell, so should boost those gates. i cant see 30k though corkers, however 25k minimum, if we get less than that then the stay away fans should be ashamed, although if they have work commitments i'll let them of:thumbsup:

Couldn't agree more. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
(And yes, encouraging young 'uns to be Owls rather than Blades has got to be a good thing!) ;)
THE NEWCOMER 24-11-2008, 18:36 Seems to me like Wednesday fans are just plain old fed-up, and all the reductions in the world wont make a blind bit of difference. They're a club doomed for administration im afraid.
NERVY-OWL 24-11-2008, 18:42 yes they are fed up, of being ripped off. i think it will take more than this to get some fans back but surely droping prices, even for only 5 games is a start. if fans come back for these 5 games and we get 25k + for these games it might make the club drop pricesd for next season, especially season tickets

I'm a season ticket holder and i couldn't care less about being out of pocket, i'll just be happy to see a few less empty seats than we're seeing currently
StocksyOwl 24-11-2008, 21:01 It's about bloody time.Anybody with a modicum of business sense would have done it weeks ago.
United had £10 offers on the first 3 games of this season i believe. If a club with a realistic hope of promotion can do it surely we should have.
Full the ground.Give us belief and see what happens.

I've had a season ticket for 27 years and I wish to complain about paying through the nose this year whilst the part-timers get all these discounts ;)
It's funny though isn't it, how good news and positive stories ALWAYS come out a few weeks before the AGM, to soften up the fans! Legal action dropped, the disastrous ticket policy dropped - they'll be talking about selling the training ground next...

No we didn't!!!
We've had a couple of 'Blades Days' when i believe tickets in all parts of the ground are a tenner, you lot did that against Plymouth the other week and didnt get many more than 17k, i think the Wendies are just fed up of watching the tripe on show.
NERVY-OWL 24-11-2008, 22:33 calm down stockers, he wasnt far off;) as for plymouth, i dont remember any offers being on other than kids for a quid maybe, i definately paid full price for my ticket
The Manager 25-11-2008, 00:06 About time i say

When it was a tenner the other week u could only optain a ticket at that price if you went to the ticket office with a season ticket holder, not as easy as you think and a bind to say the least.
it didnt make much difference on the crowd because of that single fact.
TRIPE 1 EVEN TRIPER 0 :hihi:

SOME Money !!!!
Mate, I sent the nephew to get a pie for me and a hotdog for himself at half time with a tenner and got £4.50 change back.. The pie was £2.60 and the mankiest looking hotdog I'd seen in my life was £2.90 !! A pint before hand was £3.20 a bottle of coke was £1.80 and a bag of sweets was £2. The place is an absolute effing rip off and at those prices they better be making a tad more than ' SOME ' money :) :) .
PS. Oh yeah, back on topic, at least the price reductions may help but it's a shame those ***** that run the place couldnt have seen this sooner.

I've just looked on the Blunts site and it's £16 adults £12 kids on the kop for all b category matches with a top price of £20 elsewhere.
I don't know how many B category games there is but it's certainly a lot cheaper than Hillsborough.
