NERVY-OWL 22-11-2008, 17:06 you're right there cb, looks like they couldnt finish their chances, need to improve big style or we will be sucked into a relegation scrap
Conceding two goals isn't great, but given that we had five on the board when their second went in, I suppose we can excuse that.
(I'm old enough to remember Scotland beating New Zealand 5-2 and going out on goal difference...)
More importantly, the goals are starting to flow nicely. Disregard the blip against Reading and we're on a hell of a run.
Michael_W 22-11-2008, 17:13 Well done to United today, well on course now for a third place finish and another play-off defeat perhaps :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Not too long ago they were 5th in the table and above us :hihi::hihi:
firecracker 22-11-2008, 20:23 And Pardew has paid the price of the Blades winning 5-2 at the Valley - he's been fired. But then again, it had been coming for several weeks.
Not too long ago they were 5th in the table and above us :hihi::hihi:
Not so long ago Charlton was in the premier and above us both, things change often,if not life would be boring.

U,me and Blackie too.Let's hope we've found the right formation and stick with it.Wolves and Ipswich will be tougher but they're beatable.:)
Everyone is beatable in this league. :) Well done Blades though, that's a good result away from home. :) Shame the Owls are still giving us nightmares. :(
CorkerSWFC 23-11-2008, 08:50 Wednesday were poor yesterday, Coventry were not much better.
As soon as Morrison headed his superb goal i went, i knew there was only gonna be 1 goal in it.

You find a lot of lower league teams are happy to go 1-0 up and sit on the league, its happened to us a few times this season :hihi:
CorkerSWFC 23-11-2008, 10:25 Lol it was bloody freezing aswell at Hillsborough, sometimes i wish it was a tight little ground as its so blustery on days like yesterday.
My take on yesterdays results is that United in all fairness have laid down a foundation to maybe automatic promotion, 5-2 away at Charlton is a top result and even got there manager the sack, i think u,ll go up if im totally honest, its just what you do when you get there which must worry the "honest" unitedites.
Wednesday were dire yesterday and things are starting to get a little worrying, there were a few fans shouting for Laws out yesterday, and plenty of you don't know what your doing aswell.
I know i said in a post last night that you won't go up but i was still ****** off with yesterdays showing lol

The aim's got to be to turn into a Bolton, Sunderland, or what Charlton themselves were till a couple of years ago; bounce up and down, up and down, while buliding a big enough war chest to eventually STAY up and establish ourselves as a top-flight team.
And yes, it'll suck getting badly relegated every other year, but let's think long term for once.
CorkerSWFC 23-11-2008, 12:00 The Premiership gets harder every year, Clubs are getting took over right left and centre by multi millionaires, its hard to compete with these teams.
Even the likes of Sunderland who have spent an absolute fortune are struggling to make any sort of impact.
Unless either Sheffield club got took over by a "proper" millionaire then we will always struggle to compete at the highest level any time in the near future.

Undoubtedly; I don't see the end result of that process being a "force" as in challenging to win anything; more to become one of the teams that doesn't ever look like going down and can get into the UEFA Cup once in a while.

I think the thing is with the premiership these days is, any team from 12 can get relegated, there's usally the odd 1 or two who are just about nailed on to go down like West Brom and Stoke.
NERVY-OWL 23-11-2008, 13:57 like heyesey says, hard as it is for fans, being a yo yo team to build up enough cash to stay up is the only way. if wednesday had the chance to go up this season then i'd take it, even if we went straight down with a record low for points. money talks and wednesday at the moment look like getting sucked into that relegation fight unless july 1st comes very soon, which i doubt will happen now anyway. never dull being a wednesdayite:thumbsup:
Rocklegend 23-11-2008, 13:57 Fro what I've seen, the top 5 in the Prem are in their own league-the rest look nothing speciAl.Hull have shown what's possible and the Blades should have no fears either;that's assuming they get there in the first place-but the top 2 are pulling away.Tuesday's game is MASSIVE.

you just peaked too early .
mrsteabag 23-11-2008, 19:12 Not too long ago that we beat you 1-0:hihi::hihi::hihi:
One match does not win you anything apart from 3 points, still got the rest of the season to go! :D
CorkerSWFC 23-11-2008, 20:12 Can you remember last season, you missed out on the play offs by four points, who took four points off you last season?

more important to you should be how many points of relegation were you ?.
or are you now ?.

Nothings that important at the moment, all i am doing is giving as good as i take, the spouting on here about crowds and god knows what else are obviously going to get a reply, don't hold it against us you just can't beat us even if you think you can beat everybody else.
Everyone is beatable in this league. :) Well done Blades though, that's a good result away from home. :) Shame the Owls are still giving us nightmares. :(
there are only 3 quality teams in this league, wolves ,birmingham and reading ,everyone else is average to say the least
Can you remember last season, you missed out on the play offs by four points, who took four points off you last season?
A whole bunch of teams. Some took six. It would be very, very stupid to believe that only one of all those draws/losses was responsible for us not reaching the playoffs.

Its quite simple, beat so called "crappy" Wednesday twice and you might be in the Prem now :hihi:
