I am looking for the daughter of Joseph Rippon. She would be between 64 and 69 years old now.
She lost contact with her dad many years ago, I am a family member and would like to get in contact with her.
If anyone knows her or any of her family members can you PM me please.
Thanks
Joseph was born in 1914 and married having one daughter in that marriage, I dont have her name. He divorced his wife and remarried living in Crookes in Sheffield until he passed away.
Just a quick question it would be easier to find the daughters birth if you know the maiden name of her mother (Josephs 1st wife) ?
Nope, havnt got a clue of her first name let alone her surname...It looks like I am not going to find her and thats such a shame as I have something that I would like to give her.
Don't give up just yet, there are lots of good genies on this forum it just needs a bit more research.
As a starting point was Joseph born in Chesterfield.
I have a Joseph Rippon born Chesterfield in 1914 mothers maiden name Wilson.
If this is him there are already 6 other siblings (all sisters) which means there will be an extended family we could look in to one of whom may know something.

In case it's of any help, I checked the marriage index from 1932 to 1945 and found only two possible entries. By far the more likely is a Joseph E. Rippon who was married to Muriel Keable in the Chesterfield district in Oct-Dec 1934 (Vol. 7b Page 2093). The other was a Joseph H. Rippon who married in Stockport in 1932.
I don't know if it is the same person but there was a Joe Rippon who was the groundsman at the football ground on Sandygate Road in the 1980's. He did that as a part-time job after retirement. I am pretty sure he lived within walking distance of the ground so having a home on Crookes would not be out of the question.

Yes.... I was thinking that this was the likely one but was swayed when checking births. The Rippon/Keable marriage certainly produced more than one child and although I can't be sure what the OP first said indicated that they had only one daughter ?????????????
Wow I didnt realise you guys had done this....!!!!
Ill ask about the footie connection, Him and his wife deffo only had the one daughter.
Devlin thats him, his mums name was wilson....!!!!
Firstly... I understand that there was only one daughter but the question is were there any boys or are you saying she was an only child ? Knowing this will help.
Right here go's
Annie Wilson and Thomas W.S. Rippon were married in Ecclesall Bierlow in the Jul/Aug/Sept quarter if 1911. The marriage certificate reference is Volume 9C page 569. purchasing this certificate at some stage (if you want to get further down the family tree) will give you info on both sets of fathers. (Josephs grandfathers)
Annie and Thomas went on to have
Doris Rippon 1912
Joseph Rippon 1914
Ethel Rippon 1915
Phylis Rippon 1917
Gladys Rippon 1919
Nellie Rippon 1922
Muriel Rippon 1923
Audrey Rippon 1924
Busy bees were they not !!!!! daft as it sounds one of these may still be alive...old ... but I can do some digging if it would help..... All of these childrens births were registerd in Chesterfield

Hi, Joseph Rippon was my great uncle. His sister, Muriel, was my grandmother. I am afraid you have got Joseph's parents names wrong. They were Theresa Wilson and Harvey Ernest Rippon and were married in 1901. They actually had a total of 14 children born in Eckington, between 1901 and 1924. When Joseph was a boy he was brought up by another family because his parents couldn't support all the children they had, hence my grandmother lost touch with him, but they were reunited 6 months before she died in 1983. This is all I know about him, but I can provide details of family tree, which I have been researching.

I actually know someone who's name is Joe Rippon. He's about 50. Any chance he's a possible decendent??
Son, grandson??
