View Full Version : Crap films that made you walk out of the cinema bellis 21-11-2008, 11:52 gothic by ken russell it was utterly pants:D Beakerzoid 21-11-2008, 12:45 I've never walked out of a film, regardless of how bad it is. The reason I suffer to the end is that there have been quite a few instances where the first half hour of a film have been dull, lifeless, terribly constructed messes, etc, but then the film turns the other way and becomes a lot better, to the point (in one or two cases) or a rewatch making me appreciate the opening confusion a lot more. Now, there have been times when I wished I had walked out...most recent examples include Meet The Spartans (painful to watch), and Indy 4 (I should have left when the film nuked the fridge), but I suppose suffering an abomination to the end at least makes you appreciate the average films a lot more. *Felicity* 23-11-2008, 15:16 I've never walked out of a film, but I'll admit that I came close to it with The X Files: I Want to Believe. That one was shocking. Such a disappointment after the TV series and the first film. GazE 25-11-2008, 12:47 Never walked out, wish I had on several occaisions though. Top of the list would be The Sweetest Thing, that was a horrible movie and I will never get the time spent watching it back. :) Beetroot 01-12-2008, 00:50 I too have never walked out of a film, however I remember taking my son to see "Lilo and Stitch" and having to fight a very strong urge to get up and leave. Karis 03-12-2008, 09:22 I found Cape Fear utterly dreary and would have walked out. Also, Star Trek: Nemesis! Rich 08-12-2008, 19:35 Quantum of Solace, the latest Bond... If I hadn't fell asleep through a combination of tiredness/boredom I would've walked out, £4.50 (because it was before 12 PM at Cineworld) to see the worst movie this year?! Eh?! I wanted my money back in the end. Keith Rich 12-01-2009, 11:35 I ve just walked out of The Reader. Yes the new one. It was like watching a low budget badly acted porn film with full frontal male nudity. Horrible. andysm 13-01-2009, 23:24 I have never walked out of a film but was very tempted to walk out of: The Cell (Jennifer Lopez) - Dreadful film. Hey, lets have a near-naked J-Lo as the main 'character' and that brit artist Damien Hirst do the art direction, it's bound to be a winner. Plot? Nah, we don't need one of those. Open Water - 16 hours (or so it seemed) of 2 annoying idiots screaming and crying in the sea. The New World - One of the most beautifully shot films I have seen, also one of the most boring, think of it as moving wallpaper. It can't be a good sign when the other customers sighs, shuffles and mutterings is more entertaining than the film. Helly 14-01-2009, 11:18 Open Water because I was sick of the sight of the same 2 people stuck in the same water and I didn't care whether they were rescued or not. The Producers which, to this very day, I think is the worst film I've ever seen and Burn After Reading which had no real point, indulged in oddness for the sake of it and tried to coast along on the names of its actors. soulvapour 14-01-2009, 14:10 i nearly walked out on king kong, started of very slow for first hour then got good but after about 3hr 10 mins my bum was hurting lol. EdnaKrabappe 14-01-2009, 19:09 Never walked out but I have fallen asleep a number of times (not always to do with quality of the film I might add:hihi:) I did have a great nap during the film Pret a porter though. Bago 01-02-2009, 20:47 I also never walk out of a film either, as I usually go and see it only if I have seen the trailer, or if it had a good review. Though, one time, I wish I did walk out on Too Fast Too Furious, it is such a dumb film! Richeh 02-02-2009, 13:37 I didn't walk out of The Thin Red Line, but I bloody wish I had. I'll generally happily chortle through a bad film, but three hours of war poetry is too much for me. Little Buzz 02-02-2009, 13:40 I should have walked out of The Scarlet Letter - utter drivel. However, I didn't want to disturb any one as I was the only one in the cinema awake, so I had to watch it all. jennycakes 02-02-2009, 13:48 chicken little i fell asleep:rolleyes: evildrneil 02-02-2009, 13:52 The only one I have walked out of was "Very Bad Things" - I got in free and I was still over-charged! The one I most wish I hadn't gone to see was Daredevil - I'm not sure what caused me more pain the numb buttocks from the crap chair or my eyes for taking in the drivel! dookie 03-02-2009, 01:12 MR and MRs Smith. The Aristocrats. poo coco_gemini 03-02-2009, 14:36 I have walked out on mama mia!! hoba 17-02-2009, 16:37 I walked out of Men in Black, but only because I nipped out to go to the loo and got distracted by a Streetfighter 2 arcade machine on the way back. Still think it was a better use of my time as well, and never did find out how that film ends. dizzybird77 21-02-2009, 22:28 Walked out of Ratatouille (sp), that bad even my kids wanted to leave I should have walked out of: Enchanted Sweeny Todd Freddy V Jason 28 Days Later Hairspray HSM :gag: anastacia 23-02-2009, 18:55 Does any one remember 'The Doors' -story of Jim Morrison-I actually laughed out loud when the Indian kept appearing-it was the most pretentious nonsense I have ever witnessed. Also saw one called The Waiter which made me want to tear my own eyes out youwhatref 23-02-2009, 20:27 The Spirit is one of the worst films i've seen in a long time. Add Gomorroh to that list also. msmouse 23-02-2009, 23:06 Saw Vicky Cristina Barcelona last week ... so crap my mate fell asleep upinwath 24-02-2009, 07:21 I used to have an unlimited card so if a film was a bit crappy, no problem. Walked out of blair witch (Total bull) and straight into vampires. The latter being a red hot movie. shaner13 28-02-2009, 10:50 in mid nineties i walked out of an horror film called "the dark half" i think, missed half a day off college to see it,really terrible film. LitleMermaid 02-03-2009, 13:14 Walked out of Ratatouille (sp), that bad even my kids wanted to leave I should have walked out of: Enchanted Sweeny Todd Freddy V Jason 28 Days Later Hairspray HSM :gag: :wow: That was probably my favourite film of last year! In fact, it's one of my favourite of all time! It was excellent!:D haddockman 02-03-2009, 13:19 We're off to see Marley & Me tonight, so I may have one to add tomorrow :P LitleMermaid 02-03-2009, 13:29 Erm, stop making people think I am dragging you to see it! I am not, am dreading it as much as you, only agreed for the cuteness factor! :P Strangelove 02-03-2009, 20:22 The only film i've ever walked out of is Irréversible. Pure exploititive trash. Stainboy 06-03-2009, 21:42 I could never walk out of something, it feels too much like giving up. It's not even about the money anymore since I have the cineworld pass. I was incredibly bored yesterday watching Benjamin Button and was looking forward to it finishing but even so I still wanted to see the end so that I could tick it off the "films seen" in my head. I'd feel too uncomplete. I'll do it with films on TV as I haven't made a concious decision to watch them so can always try them again. Rich 06-03-2009, 22:10 Erm, stop making people think I am dragging you to see it! I am not, am dreading it as much as you, only agreed for the cuteness factor! :P That and so you can cry like a girl at the sad bits :P Ridgewalk 08-03-2009, 08:30 Absolute Beginners, Think it was David Bowie. I've always found him a pretentious wuss A film, I can't remember the name, about a female assassin. As we were leaving the usherette was really kind and showed us into Fargo. Struck gold. Stainboy 08-03-2009, 20:26 Lucky! I'd have loved to see Fargo on the big screen. That film saved a date for me once, we'd been to see White Noise and afterwards I said "want to come back to mine and see a better film?" and put on Fargo. |
