Can anyone tell me the law on smokin weed when he smokes it in his own back garden and he stinks the whole area out. The stench gets into our house when the doors open and hangs around for ages. Or in the garden shed it's enough to make you throw up.

If you have 1/4 or under it is classed as personal use.

If you caught with that amount, if you are over 18, you will be given a warning and the drug will be taken off you.

Any more and it's classed as dealing.....

It's still illegal although currently downgraded to Category C. So you could get his dope confiscated.

(I believe it should be regraded to Categoiry B again, but that's just me!)

A sympathetic copper might view his indulging in weed outdoors as behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace. You might also look towards whether you could claim the enjoyment of your property is being denied you (though that's a civil issue and hence expensive to pursue).

Do you get on with him if you ask him he might stop doing it outside before you go down the lets get the police involved route, because I think this will no doubt lead to a lot of stress and unpleasantness.

If he wont then at least you gave him the benefit of the doubt.

if its a small bit for personal use IN your own house (possibly garden) theyll prolly just take it off you and slap your hands.

IF its in public youll prolly still get arrested.

Prolly just get a caution the first once ot twice tho as it is now class c

but they are looking at upping skunk back to class b????
as though thats gonna work, the coppers having to tell by look and smell whats skunk and whats normal weed LOL yeah right

I would suggest asking him to be more considerate, chances are he doesn't even know it bothers you. If he ignores your request, here's some things to annoy him when he's blazed:

- bake something that smells lovely, but dont ask if he wants any

- leave something going 'blip' 'blip' 'blip' in your back garden and go out

- play scary scary music really loud (like the music from a horror film)

- get a video tape of 'America's Dumbest Cops' and watch it constantly with the sound really loud so he's always paranoid about the police sirens

further to Ms bean's suggestions: Build a huge pyre in the back garden made entirely from used tractor tyres and also buy a Naval klaxon and every time he sparks up light the pyre with petrol and hoot the klaxon constantly whist shouting ‘cannabis use causes temporary insanity.’ That should bring his buzz down somewhat.
