A beast of a spider has just scuttled out from under my sofa and is currently squatting in the middle of the room staring at me:shocked:

is it a giant elephant of a spider? when I was at my grans once some spider ran accross the floor at a super speed... at first I thought it was a mouse... then realised it was the biggest damn spider I've ever seen in my life (except turantula at zoo's)

few months later I'm looking after her house whilst she's on holiday and the damn thing appears again... so eventually after many tries I caught it under a large drinking glass... the thing only just fit inside the glass... had the biggest legspan I've seen on a spider... seriously it had me worried it might have been poisonous... I took a pic of it with my phone but it didnt turn out well :(

i have noticed over the last few years just how big spiders are gettin, i get some very large ones in my house! i had one last year that lived behind the security sensor on my wall. i used to be petrified of spiders but now as i get so many they are not so bad.
someone said to me they are getting bigger due to climate change and also different breeds of spider are getting into the country in fruit and things and mating with the locals!!! so watch out or we could have an arachnaphobia situation on ours hands:loopy: :loopy:

oh no... have you seen that movie "Eight Legged Freaks"?? oh jesus, if you don't like spiders never watch that film... were talking spiders as big as cars!! arghhhhhh

just grab a bucket and a VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY large sheet of card to slide under, find the beast and thro the bucket hole down on top of it, BEFORE it leaps on you and sucks your lifeforce away :)

A single large spider isnt bad - at least you can see the thing and know there is just one - would be worse if there were millions like in this article [guess they were small though, but 60 acres of web is HUGE !]

When I was at the Co-op I was told the tale of a store manager who opened a box of bananas only to release a Giant Bird-Eating Spider - which promptly jumped onto his shoulder and make him scream like a girl - not surprising :gag:

The spider ran off and was found a couple of weeks later hidden under a pile of potatos :thumbsup:

I reckon it's climate change too, think about it, in hotter countries, spiders are bigger, global heating is making this country hot too, so spiders are getting bigger.
I live in the attic and there's a beam above my bed, I check under the beam before I get into bed to make sure that there's not a spider there ever since i got in bed and there it was literally inches from my face! :wow:

I once had one crawl out from one of the other beams which I swear, had visible toes! It was HUGE.

And yes Deavon, I know what you mean it's less worrying when you know where they are!
