hi everyone

i have some problems with my computer it has only started yesterday and i have been away from this computer for a week and a half so im confused to what has happend.

it is fine when i switch it on and lets me connect to the internet and everything normal but then after about half an hour it suddenly freezes and wont do anything i press ctrl+alt+delete and it changes colour and everything goes big so the pages dont fit on the screen and it says there is an error and it will let me type messages and everything and close things down for about 20-30 seconds then it will freeze again and no matter what i do it wont switch off so i end up having to pull the plug out at the back. and when i leave it for a few seconds and switch it back on its fine again.

please help i am really confused about what is going on becuase i have run two spyware things and they both cant detect anything.

When you say it won't switch off, are you holding the power button in for at least 6 seconds? Most motherboards these days have some kind of power management system to prevent accidental pressing of the power button when the PC is on.

What version of Windows is it? It'll be easier for me to help you if it's XP :)

If it is XP then goto the start menu, right click 'My Computer', select manage, click the little + where it says Event Viewer and then click on Application and System in the left pane and look for any red Xs in the right pane. If there are any red ones, double click those and tell me what the message is.
