Nah, comfortable 2-0 win for england.
CorkerSWFC 19-11-2008, 17:50 3-2 to Germany or maybe squeeze a 3-3 draw, i fear the worse tonight though, i feel the Germans still want revenge for the 5-1 mauling we gave em. (great times)
I am watching it but the sound is turned down because David"the kerb crawler"Pleat is commentating
England winning 1-0 but the german keeper looks like he is related to Gomez, the spurs keeper, with the pathetic attempt to get anywhere near the ball
I've got it on the tele but it's mainly background
CorkerSWFC 19-11-2008, 19:43 To be fair that was a good half from England they were positive and looked very dangerous on the attack, Agbonlahor is causing allsorts of hassle for the German defence.
Seeing the keeper coming out off his box near to half time then just showed you how worried they are about agbons sheer pace.
the_rudeboy 19-11-2008, 19:45 The England lads are showing real hunger. The Germans are currently not looking worthy of their world number 2 ranking.

Well he has just spoken about "thrusting down the sides" the sleazy pervert :D

Well deserved lead again. We have been so much better than Germany tonight
the_rudeboy 19-11-2008, 20:43 Great game. Great result. Great performance.
Thingything 19-11-2008, 20:57 Bloody good performance from our 2nd string
Will be suprised to see Carson in an England jersey again though
Man of match for me was Downing
CorkerSWFC 19-11-2008, 21:01 Sean Wright Philips was immense tonight, Glenn Johnson looks reborn and Carrick looked so comfortable it was untrue. he was my man of the match.
I think Cappello is a great bloke he made me giggle when Agbonlahor went through and he was using jinking gestures towards him after he fluffed his chance, he's a patient guy Fabio and seems to know how to get the best out of a player, i am starting to be a FABIO FAN.

i did that a few times for my school team but at least we won so its ok i guess:)
Bladesman 19-11-2008, 23:50 We played surprisingly well against the Germans.
Carson will be lucky to get another game for England. You could argue Terry was partly to blame for the clanger although he made up for his mistake with the winning goal.

In that situation the goalkeeper is the boss, he should've either forcibly told Terry to leave it or called it his ball.

Footballingwise, that was the highlight of the night as my lot lost to Poland, but yes, I have to agree. I was watching Terry's face looking for the keeper to call, and nothing happened.
It could be argued that Terry should have made the decision outside of the box, but I do agree with you. It was Carson's call.

It was definitely Carsons call. He could see where Helmes was while Terry had is back to the German.
I thought Carrick was immense and Upson look comfortable alongside Terry. There should be a few of the more established internationals a bit worried today. I know the Germans had about four players missing, but we never looked in danger of losing. Sorry Carson but to be a keeper you have to more decisive than that. I think and hope its the last we see of him playing for England
A friend of mine is off to Germany in a couple of days, I've advised him not to mention the war at any point, I also think mentioning this win would be just as suicidal
Ousetunes 20-11-2008, 09:48 Enjoyable game with a deserved victory.
Terry and Upson coped well, the midfield closed down the Germans brilliantly and on this form even Stuart Downing looked good enough to play in the Championship.
Agbonwhatsisname looked promising (if a bit green) but the jury's still out on Shaun Wright-Philips for me (who played well but just doesn't convince me. It would be nice if he took the ball with him on his twisty runs).
And yes, it was definitely the 'keepers fault that we conceded a silly goal.
I just hope this performance keeps out the suddenly-injured-but-I'll-be-fit-for-Saturday players like Lampard and the snarling pit-bull that is Rooney.
But I very much doubt it.
Glamrock 20-11-2008, 12:26 Lets not get too carried away shall we,it was only a friendly
Oh wait we were playing Germany ...lets get carried away we stuffed them again in their own backyard and are the first team to beat them in Berlin since 1973 dont you just love to see the Germans squirm.
The team played well..all of them and I do believe Terry has accepted responsibility for the Carson mix up.

A good captain will try to protect the inexperienced players form shouldering blame, but the fact remains that Carson should have forcibly told Terry to either clear the ball or leave the ball. It is part of the goalkeepers role to be in charge of situations around the box.

To be honest I thought it was Carsons fault ,but after Tery's statement you first say ok he was protecting another player and if that is so it has changed my views on Terry as a valid England captain,Iv never really liked him but then again omly the players in the vicinity will know what and if a call was made, either way whether Terry was at fault or just protecting Carson it has changed my view of Terry as a man and as The England captain
Thingything 20-11-2008, 13:12 It was alway's Carson's call,if a keeper comes for the ball as Carson did then a defender will leave it for him
If Terry is taking the blame it's because he is captain and looking after his players, might have been a different story had we lost!!!
I think Terry took the blame because he knows hes already bagged a seat to South Africa whereas Carson hasnt...Terry should of blamed him and rid him of the England set-up. I do however think Joe Hart will be the No.1 in 2010.
NEKRO138 20-11-2008, 14:39 I'd like to see Ben Foster more. From what I have seen I think he'll be a contender for the number one spot.
Wright Phillips is a confidence player. He played well last night, he looks a better player than the one that left Man City now and I think he'll go on to be even better. I didn't used to be a fan of his but I think he's great now.

Agreed, for me he is the next England number one for the next 10 years

I agree again, Wright-Phillips needs to be a big fish in a little pond.
Bayern Blade 21-11-2008, 10:14 I was at the game with two other English mates. It got a bit worrying at times as we were on the German end (in England shirts).
Most of the German fans were great but a few wanted a go.
All turned out ok in the end and we had a few celebratory beers in Berlin before getting the 4:30 am train home.
I was out gloating in my local last night,I enjoyed it so much that a repeat gloat is on for this tea time !!

sounds scary what sort of things where the german fans saying when they where having a go

I bet it wouldn't be as nearly as scary as it would have been if 2 German lads with German shirts where in the English end cheering on Germany.

ive seen that happen a few times in spain and to be honest it all depends what type of bar it is and the score:)

Just the usual abuse ,when they scored a few of them about four rows behind us chucked beer (alcohol free but still wet!) and half full plastic bottles at us.
When Terry scored I couldn't resist turning round and giving them the rods which got things going a bit.
We just had to front it and look unconcerned. If they see you are worried you have a problem.
To their credit a few German fans around us were telling them to cool it in no uncertain terms.
