Have I missed something here? (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/7734080.stm)
If a player from the opposing team is about to take a kick to gain 3 points and possibly lose your team the game then why shouldn't the fans boo him and try to put him off?
We've all seen football players taking penalties with crowds of people behind the goal waving and gesticulating. I'm sorry, but if I pay my money to enter a ground and watch a game I should be able to express my emotions, which includes trying to put off an opposition kicker by booing him.
Seems we are getting just a wee bit too sensitive nowadays

We're there for the sport first, and to support our team second, win, lose or draw. It's ALWAYS bad form to boo the opposition at rugby.
It's a different world to football, and as much as I love football, long may it remain so.
It's nothing to do with 'being too sensitive nowadays'; moreover, it's a gentle hark back to the days when sport was the thing which mattered, and players clapped each other off the field, rather than win at all costs.
Throughout the history of rugby union you never boo the opposition, as player or spectator. Unwritten rule number 1.

What it comes down to is respect, you should be respectful of both teams kickers i have been going to watch ruby since i was 4 and its always been the same it started changing after the world cup win in 2003 when we got more football fans crossing over. I can remember quite a few games down and Leicester where the opposition have had a kick to win the game and it is still silence just the same as at thomond park in Ireland.
Its just the egg chasers trying to pretend that there sport is a civilised one rather than the thugs sport it is. ;)
