View Full Version : I'm first in line for Twilight!
Twilight, the film of the best selling novel by Stephenie Meyer is released on 19th December and a rather large quantity of ladeez will be going at the earliest possible opportunity.
Anyone else desperate keen for this?
I've seen loads of clips and I'm torn about a few of the actors, some of them really don't look right for the parts to me but I'm hopeful...
steelerbabe 19-11-2008, 13:42 I am right behind you Mrs !!
I saw some massive Bella, James and Edward posters at the cinema the other day. I got more excited than a woman my age should ever get.........
I was just about to start a thread on this. I cannot wait! Zebra and I saw the actual trailer at the cinema the other night (even though we've seen it tons on the internet, it's not the same as seeing it in situ)
I am so excited about this film coming out and seeing all the American audiences reactions to it is annoying me more and more. I hate that they have gotten to see it before me!
So is anyone else except us 3 dying to know what the films like?
Bexstars 03-12-2008, 18:49 Im really looking forward to this, Im reading the first book at the moment and my god im in love with it lol I have put the next 3 books on my christmas list!
steelerbabe 04-12-2008, 10:42 I have to admit I felt the teeniest bit embarrased when sitting on the tram yesterday, the 12 year old boy sat opposite saw a banner ad for Twilight and announced to his friend that he wanted to see it !!
Well, me and 4 other forumers are going to see the very first screening of this today! I'm so excited I think I might wet myself lol (not really but you get the picture)
steelerbabe 19-12-2008, 20:27 This was sooooo amazing !!
Chinese after wasn't bad either, good company, good film and decent food...... oh and your furry christmas balls ??
Good day out ladies sorry we had to leave so early.
It was lovely and we should do it again sometime. Before the 2009 release of New Moon of course!
EdnaKrabappe 22-12-2008, 10:41 Went to see this last night and I wasn't very impressed tbh. I couldn't relate to it at all and the girl with all her longing looks just got on my nerves. I thought it was slow - sorry - I really wanted to like it but it just kept making me laugh.
Give me Anne Rice Vampires any day.

I'm with you on that one.... in the books anyway (Queen of the Damned was an abomination of a movie). Got all the Vampire Chronicles to date - absolutely adore the mythology and sensuality the books are packed with.
Have to say, high-point of the series for me has got to be Memnoch.

You prob had to read the book (sadly I did, but I have been housebound this last month) to understand her gazing at him so much ... it's because he's so beeeoooootifuuuuuullllll .. har !
Not seen the film yet but daughter No. 2 says it's a thousand times better than the writing of the book.
youwhatref 30-12-2008, 23:28 The film was ok. As Edna stated it was a very slow film and i expected something at a faster pace. It is certainly aimed at the teenage girl market which is the films main downfall but then again i find it fairly decent. Not as good as Lost Boys from what i recall.
steelerbabe 31-12-2008, 00:22 I cannot wait to see it again, I think it makes a big difference if you have read one or more of the books though.
I am working my way slowly through the 3rd book, Eclipse.
Jessica23 08-01-2009, 13:35 I would have been quite up for going to see it (I like a nice vampire), until I read this:

I like Lucy Mangan - she's level headed and not at all some kind of radical feminist, so for her to feel that strongly about the film suggests to me that I'd be just be very cross by the end of it all.
On top of that, I found out that Stephanie Meyer is a practising Mormon, who (if she practises properly - she hasn't made a public announcement about it) gives 10% of her her earnings to the Church of the Latter Day Saints. I know I shouldn't let an author's politics or religious views get to me, but coming so soon after the gay marriage debacle in California, this is just too much for my liberal conscience.
I might read the books if I can find them secondhand somewhere, though.:hihi:
Right guys .. am off to see this with my daughter this afternoon ... I'll be back ..
I would have to say that the film lacked much of which makes the book such a success. The scenes were amalgamated in places and little effort was made to lead the way for the second film.
However, if you have read the books it's great because it brings it all out in colour.
Still, Catherine Hardwicke is out for the next one, with any luck the second film will be better.
I've just ordered this pre-release on Amazon. It comes out on Monday. Whilst I'm a MASSIVE fan of the books, I think the film was just OK. I want the DVD to add to my collection though and can't wait to have a Twilight esk night at Zebra's again.
