Hey guys,

I have to do a project for the uni and I want to find out how much would cost to buy between 5-8 acres of land in the South Yorkshire Area?

I have looked on some websites, but it's a bit confusing because I found it depends on the type of land I want to buy (example: Farm House / Grazing / Recreational / Arable / Woodland etc) and on the planning permission.

We would like to build a pet cemetery on this land. So which type of land do you think it's best? I believe either Farm House (because we would like a building for an office) or a Grazing type. But I am not sure.

How about the planning permission? Do you have to pay for that if it's stated as 'no planning permission'? Or how does it work?

I would really appreciate your help!

Thanks a lot,
Carola

Your first visit should be to the council (environmental services). My guess is that this would be their worst nightmare!!

Why do you think this?
The students who came up with this idea were very excited...

I was going to buy about 8.5 acres of land out near coal aston last year. It was grazing land with some stables and planning granted for classroom space and disabled toilets etc(not residential). The woman concerned wanted 150k, I didnt go ahead because she started stalking me. I think she sold it at auction for less than that in the end.
I have tried the council, but they proved very unhelpful. I think auctions are your best bet. Also birkdale school also had some land to rent last year it was 10 acres and they were offering it to Hallam tennis club, dont know what happened but there may be some space still available. Heeley farm seem to get informed when land comes up, but nothing doing recently.
I want land myself, but for growing local food, so Id be interested to know how you go on. good luck
