View Full Version : New Look in Town Centre?
Did a quick search, but couldn't find anything!
Anybody know what's happening with New Look in the City Centre? Went in today and the girlfriend was devestated because it looks like it's closed down and she's got £3 in vouchers to spend! :suspect:
HarrietStar 27-05-2005, 16:20 i went into town today to buy some clothes for my new job, was upset to see it gone as i always rely on it when other shops don't have anything! looks like it's closed down or being refurbished

She's hoping it's being refurbished - not sure why she doesn't post, she's a registered member here. But I was wondering whether they've not decided to just keep the store at Meadowhall, especially with H&M opening opposite!
Plain Talker 27-05-2005, 16:35 Is that the one at the top of Fargate?
It's only closed for a couple of weeeks or so, for a refit!

I'm confuzzled - are they opening an H&M in Fargate?! If so, my bank balance is going to suffer....
Plain Talker 28-05-2005, 21:28 apparently so,
think it'll be on that block where lush and footlocker were....

LittlestLass 28-05-2005, 21:35 In which case, those building are either a lot bigger than they look, or it'll be the smallest H&M in the world!
But still big enough to involve money parting company with my purse.
*Sigh*
I'll never be rich....

I'm not being silly, they're making the town center look better.
As a city Sheffield doesn't look all that great, it looks old and out of touch. It reminds me greatly of Middlesbrough town center... but that's maybe just because it's full of chav's too.
Hmmm... well I have been to M'boro ... erm once on a business trip and erm... well yeah suppose it is a bit like Sheffield... though I know which I wud rather live in I still dont like the look of Sheffield at the moment.
Just seems the council feel the need to break or dig up everything ... Sheffield Council motto ... if it aint broke kick it til it is then knock it down and build something worse in its place :0)

I'll stick with my home town over M'boro and Sheffield ;)
Don't judge until it's finished, then you can pass judgement :)
Well we shall see... thing is I have lived here my whole life and the council are always ruining something. :(

You don't know how lucky you are to have the council you have!
Coz where you're from you have to get up and lick the road clean...

The council generally are great, just not in the area in which I live. We have no public services, one bus an hour, to a town with around 15,000 residents, and one of the richest, most expensive post-codes in the country. We pay huge amounts of council tax, and most of it gets spent on the poor postcodes developing swimming pools, libraries, police officers etc.. Yet the high street in our town is the busyist night out in the area, and how many police officers on a Friday, Saturday night? TWO!
In the two years when I worked supering at a local bar, we had maybe two or three major fights requiring the police, it took over 3 hours for them to turn up, the one time with had a drug problem, there was 10 squad cars, and the police plane overheard within 10minutes >_<.
Bah. </rant>
