We're thinking of buying a house in the North Sheffield area, and was just wondering if Fox Hill has become any better since the flats were knocked down (I saw this on another thread from around the end of 2004).
Does anybody live there? Would YOU move there? What are your reasons?
Thanks for your views.
Hello.
I lived there not too long ago and I have friends that still live there. We lived just off Browning Road near Halifax road. I must say its better than it was. We never had any trouble and neither have our friends who live just off Browning Road. I'm not sure what its like further up near the flats though. They are in the middle of land scaping Wolfe Road park at the moment, i'm sure that will improve the area even more. A lot of the houses at the Halfax road side have now been bought so it cant be that bad!
I'm sure you'll be fine and enjoy your time living there.

Just been to view a fantastic 4 bedroom house on Wolfe road but the surrounding area is horrid. The seller tells me that there are big plans to redevelop Fox hill.
Does any one know what the plans are and where I can get information????
I live 2 Minutes away from Wolfe road, and as far as i know the fox hill area is like the rest of parson cross where the houses have been knocked down ~ its all Planned but when its gonna happen? who knows, most of the land will be selt off to private developers, Wolfe road is in bad need of a good Shopping Precinct, But your home is what you make it and what the people next door etc; are like doesnt mean that its all horrid, there are horrid places all over this city. life is what you make it. Fox hill is a dam site better now than it was 4-5 years ago.
We have just bought a lovely 2 bed semi on Powley Road (backs on to Wolfe Road) and to be honest we didn't think the area looked as bad as other areas we have been to look at. We had a good long talk to the neighbours and the vendor and came to the conclusion that they all look out for each other.
Been on the councils website and the area where the flats was further up the hill is due to be redeveloped starting early in the new year with loads of new build houses for private sale.

So the planning application was approved then?
Not yet, but is up for final verdit early Jan. They can start on site without planning to do the clearing and earthworks exercises.
