Hello! I need help with a question I was given in the Essentials exam.
I was asked what tool is required to remove a ribbon cable from a legacy IDE Hard Drive. I will apreciate any reliable feedback..thanks guys!

What a freaky question.
If anyone invented any kind of tool to do such a thing it'd have to go down as one of the most useless things ever bought out.
After Windows ME that is.

You would need an IDE ribbon puller.... just kiddin no such thing as far as i know.
Only thing i have ever used is patience and my fingers :thumbsup:

Yes, lit up like fireworks, now have no hair and the remnants of smoke linger. I have used my hands for years but the exam specifically required a name of a tool. Thanks for your reply :-)

... Or maybe they expect you to lever it out with an extremely small precision microw-crowbar, who knows!
Tools required:
Screwdriver (Phillips or + tip)
Anti-static wrist strap (precautionary)
I can only imagine that the answer they are after is "an anti-static wrist strap", 'cos then you'd just pull it out.
