I've been looking for a really disgusting Wool Christmas jumper to wear as a joke on Christmas Eve.
The only ones I can find are about 40 - 50 Pounds and i don't really want to pay that much.
Does any one know of anywhere i can get one from that won't cost me an arm and a leg or put me in touch with someone who may be able to Knit me one for cheaper price.

Thanks in Advance

Ben

At the risk of sounding patronising, you might want to try Oxfam or Ebay, as the cheapest yarn's likely to set you back at least £20, depending on how many colours you want, and I don't think there's many knitters willing to do a colourwork jumper for £20.

Or have you thought of a cheap Primark jumper, and using fabric paint and stencils? You could even stick on some pom-poms for that authentic "christmas monstrosity" feel.

Sorry but don't really know how long it takes to make a jumper with lots of detail on it.
I take it by the price of them its quite labour intensive.
I keep trying charity shops but no joy so far so thought i would ask people in the know.
How long does it take to become a competent Knitter.
Could i pick it up in a couple of weeks ?
I'll willing to try myself if its not to hard but there is only 6 weeks till Christmas.
Could I just Knitt the Christmas Scene and sew it onto a plain jumper.

Hand knitting an adult size jumper with a Christmas scene on for a new knitter will take you some time I would have thought. You might need to find someone with a knitting machine - Im guessing you are thinking the sort of reindeer Christmassy theme which can be done relatively easily on a machine.
