View Full Version : Did anyone see the accident on halifax road? 25/05/05
codeman_cas 25-05-2005, 22:25 i was hust wondering if anyone knows or saw what happened on halifax rd just outside londis there were about 5 cop cars an an ambulance ,my heart dropped as my daughter was out at the time abd my sympathy goes out to who ever it is and their family ,the road is dangerous for kids these days .
Looks like a male pedestrian hit the windscreen of a car with his head. Looks quite bad, lots of blood. Police have taped off the road. We saw the man on the pavement alive, but looked in a bad way:(
Well I've just driven past that and it seemed as if no-one had been badly hurt*. Lots of police but no ambulances.
There were some very young looking kids stood beside the smashed car. I hope they were just out having a nosey, otherwise it might have been them having a joyride.
*Looked like no-one was hurt, but I can't be sure as I was only driving past... Hope I'm right!
where did it happen? wheres londis?
Oh dear, know where you mean. Used to drive up that way a lot a few years ago. I hope whoever was injured is going to be ok!

The man was badly hurt from what I could see. He had been run over by the silver Golf parked further down Halifax Rd. (The car was apparently zooming down Halifax Rd)
Apparently his leg was half way up his back and he had bad head injuries. I couldn't make out who it was but I hope its not someone I know.
when was this? I live just up the road from there

I was walking home from the pub at about 12.00 ish and it had just happened.
matsalleh 26-05-2005, 14:22 The guy is in NGH intensive care sorry no further info except that he actually works at NGH.
deelightful3 28-05-2005, 05:47 as anyone heard any more news on the guy that was knocked down,my friend was directly behind the car that knocked him over, and she is desparate for any news on him.
Just to set the record straight for everyone,
The kids were not joy-riding and they were not zooming down the road, the injured man was pi**ed and stepped into the path of the car.
Yes, the kids are young, but legal age to drive! The girl driving was 20.
My 18 yr old nephew was a passenger in the back.
There was only one fool that said they were speeding, all the other witnesses said he stepped out!
As for the mans injuries, yes, serious, who knows what the future holds for him, but I wish him a speedy recovery.
Just think what that poor girl sees in her dreams every night!
matsalleh 01-06-2005, 18:45 I do not know how this happened, that is for the police to sort out. I do know the injured man is still in intensive care, and is still too ill to be moved.

How would you feel if this was the other way around and it was your nephew in the genral intesive care unit .
Some people just think about themselfs and people they know ,
I know that girl might not have gone out and ment to knock down the bloke, but i know he was not drunk and that it was something that has happend but dont blame him dont you think he is suffering enough.you say what do you think the girl see in her dreams at night but least the girl might be able to forget for a hour he cant all he has to do is look at himself and hope he will be able to do stuff he used to do .
its not a dig at you gazelle but i am only sticking up for him as at the moment he cant do for himself.
Nor was I having a dig a anyone. People always assume that when it's late at night and there's young kids involved, they surely must be joy-riding or speeding, as I said, this was not the case.
Most of the witnesses had seen him staggering about, hence the reason for people to think he was pi**ed.
If the tables were turned and it was my nephew and he had fell in the road or accidently stepped out then I wouldn't slate the driver for it, it'd be his fault.
I've heard that this man has had to have his jaw re-built, hope he gets well soon.
