I want to get someone a Bonsai tree as a pressie, does anyone know of someone in Sheffield who sells them? I've seen really old threads on here talking about a place at Chapeltown, is it still there? I know they used to sell them at MH but I don't think the stall is there anymore.

One of the old threads has what looks like a Japenese acer bonsai - oh my goodness, how beautiful it is! Knowing me I'll end up with one for myself too!!!

Try the garden center at gleadless. I've had one from there before. B&Q also have them from time to time.

Please get a care book as well when you buy it. Not many bonsai are easy to look after. I know. I've lost a few :s

Derbyshire Bonsai.

My friend stands outside Marks and Spencer on Fargate. Hes there until christmas. He also provides you with all the info on keeping bonsai, and is very knowledgeable.

yes, harry thomlinson does have some lovely trees, his wife petra also makes dishes and other bonsai related stuff too.

derbyshire bonsai usually have some nice trees, i bought this acer palmatum 'deshojo' from them earlier this year, it cost £50 and stands around 20" tall, it's a little weak on branching on the right hand side but you don't get much for that money:(

you would probably be better off buying a chinese elm from B&Q or one of the other large DIY stores, they can be had quiet cheaply and are very hard to kill:D

here's one that i bought from morrisons for a fiver:o

Well I went to town today to have a look at the Bonsai trees outside Marks on Fargate - and he wasn't there! So I went into Marks as they had told me that they would be getting some in during December. They hadn't!

Grrr!! I hate town!

hi if you look on ebay you will find one of the bonsai sellers is based in rotherham so after you have had a look at what is available, if you contact her (Jude) you could cut out delivery costs by picking up your tree.

Hi

Just got back from Don Valley, I only bought one tree this year as they are sooooo expensive now :(

I have noticed that each year I come home with less trees, next year I probably won't come back with any

Cheers, John :)
