Am i best getting a pre-owned one or new?

If it's in good condition, pre-owned.
However, you don't know how much stick it's been given - the controller could be worn, the battery life reduced.
Get the Slim model (V2000) - longer battery life. However, the brand new slim model (V3000 with brighter screen) has a shorter life and display issues.
Have a read at this:

also depends what youre planning on doing with it. If you want to run custom firmware, the old models are easier to flash. New ones need a pandora battery

just wanting it to play a few games on whilst travellin / on holiday really.
like tiger woods, pro evo, snooker etc?
slim one is sooooooo much lighter, avoid the newest, as there are rumours of a recall due to screen probs.
bought one from game preowned saved about 20 quid and it was perfect
