Previously I got my DLA paid with my incapacity benefit fortnightly. I have just had to reapply, and the way it is paid following my review has changed. When I rang DLA payments I was told it was happening to everyone who had had a review and I should have received a letter.

Now I will receive a separate payment four weekly. This of course has left a bit of a hole in my pocket, so I thought I would post to warn anyone else that if you have a review and at present you are paid with your other benefit, in future it will be separate.

is it a while since youve had a review? been claiming for my wee girl for 3 years now and it was 4 weekly only at that point

i just get the stuff she needs the week its paid

yes we've always had it paid monthly here too. I assumed that was the same for everyone but obviously not!

There is a bit on the letter which tells you to call a number if 4-weekly payments will cause a problem. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the letter to hand to give you the number :blush:

Neither do I ... I didnt get a letter saying I would get 4 weekly payments. But I dont mind 4 weekly payments, its just when payments stop without telling me it causes problems.

I had a similar problem, but I just rang them and explained that I preferred to be paid in the same manner as before (because it made it easier for me to keep track of my finances), and they were happy to oblige.

They also re-imbursed me for bank charges incurred, when a direct debit bounced because of the DWP changing my payment dates/format without warning me! WOW!!!!!

um...i had a letter the other week, saying it was going monthly...

it had been fortnightly for me for years...
