I suspect I might be one of the few given that it's been in existence for over two years, but just in case there are others who haven't yet stumbled across it, here's You Knit What Part 2 (http://youknitwhattwo.blogspot.com/), set up after the previous bloggers decided to call it a day.
I suspect that this (http://www.royalyarns.com/nicky-epstein-books/Knitting-on-top-of-the-World/NEP-TOPWORLD-Nicky-Epstein-Harrisville-Designs-Orchid-Tam-Caplet.html) - shamelessly stolen from the Ravelry forums - might be appearing on the new one soon, (if it hasn't already). Everyone else is seeing boobies too, right?

I used to read the original YKW now and again but I stopped after they featured something designed by someone whose blog I read. What she'd made wasn't to my taste either but she didn't deserve the level of vitriol she came in for in the comments. Once I'd seen it from her point of view it didn't seem so funny after that.
What is it with tams, someone tell me? I've seen lots but I just don't feel the attraction.
Yes, I've seen people elsewhere have a moan about comments posted on You Knit What and various similar sites. Some have even argued that such sites shouldn't exist at all for fear of causing offence to the various designers.
The counter argument has always been that if you put something out there, especially if it's something which very many people find hilarious (intentionally or otherwise), bizarre, poorly executed or just plain ugly, then you should expect brickbats from the naysayers along with the laurels from the acolytes (as I believe the yarn harlot found out with some ugly yet complicated socks, though ones which were not designed by her, if I recall correctly).
I think knitting snark is hilarious, but each to their own, naturally.

Had a lookie through for a giggle, then came accross the aran armchair...probably I am the only one but I really like it. If i had the time and wool budget (and was a lot better at cables!) I think I would make it. This may be the link to it : http://youknitwhattwo.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
In a room full of comfy armchairs, i think that is the one I would choose to sit in.
I need to get out more...

That is truly disturbing. I can't quite decide whether they are oversized boobies or some sort of strange dartboard. Whoever thought that design up doesn't walk around the real world wearing it.

It reminds me of one of those games at the seaside where the things pop out of the holes and you have to hit them with a mallet before they disappear back down the hole. Or targets for shooting.

Mr Radish suggests carbuncles. Can you get anything for those?

Someone on the Ravelry thread suggested that they looked like tattooed Amazon women boobies, until someone pointed out that the Amazons cut off their boobs, or one of them at any rate. Not sure if the other one was tattooed and my connection is such tonight that I can't open up Wikipedia to confirm or deny :hihi: .

I think the protuberances on the hat on the first page of the You Knit What site look a bit carbuncle-like :suspect: .

Oooo I am particularly likeing the zit hat...not  :hihi: Maybe that should go on my list of things I would never knit :)
Now looking at the Royalyarns designs - I too am seeing boobies (or if its not that why is she carrying 2 very ornate knitted plates :suspect: )!
