View Full Version : Have you ever seen a band or artist you hate???
cheesemaster 06-11-2008, 03:01 who, and what did you do to show your hatred for them, i saw justin hawkins 2days ago, oh yes it got much worse when i realised he had a 9 song set list :\ after song number 2, and me having seen enough of the goofy idiot, i thought stuff this and turned my back to him until end of song 8, and i was in the front row haha, i didnt want to pay to see a man in bright orange trainers, a spikey crotch guard, simulating a 3way gang bang with two other men, trying to look sexy licking his lips lol, if i had one bullet lol.

is this justin the one who was in the darkness ?
EdnaKrabappe 06-11-2008, 06:15 I went to a 'singer behind the song' event at Leeds corn exchange a good few years back now. (Maybe ten?) Chris de Burgh was one of the people there. And I have to say, even though I still only like "..spaceman..." he really entertained me. I was swaying along to "missing you" and "lady in red" like the best of em! :hihi: He was actually quite a funny man and it endeared me a bit. Still can't stand him musically or to look at though (looks creepy)
Just as an aside -
Stuart Adamson from Big Country was there was as well and it was only a few weeks after he topped himself. As I'd also been to see Feeder a few months before, I was a bit worried I was jinxing pop stars!
NEKRO138 06-11-2008, 08:54 Where do I start?
Oasis
Tina Turner
Nickelback
50 Cent
Funeral For a Friend
P.O.D.
That's enough for now I think.
i saw blur at the arena in 92 they where half decent but where **** later i really cant stand them

As great a guitarist and songwriter as he undoubtedly was, perhaps performing a gig some weeks after his death must stand out as Stuart Adamson's greatest achievement......

He was a Big Country member
BasilRathbon 06-11-2008, 11:00 He was a Big Country member
.....and we do remember!
(sorry, couldn't resist the punchline)
pattricia 06-11-2008, 11:07 No particular band or artiste , but do hate singers who say "choo" instead of "You". " Cant live without choo"
Little Buzz 06-11-2008, 11:12 I saw a little tiny bit of 'The Spin Doctors' set at Glastonbury 1994 (http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/glastonbury/1994/).
I missed the lead singer getting jumped on though!

I also hate this, except in this song.
They even spell the title with 'chu'! Great tune though.

I can't see what's wrong with that. It's got to be worth a fiver of anyones money.
Funky_Gibbon 06-11-2008, 12:49 I went to see U2 at the Manchester Evening News Arena many years ago. They had Kelis as their support act. She was amazingly bad, just noise and screaming with an attitude. Me and my mate showed our disapproval by shouting out "you suck!!" during a brief silence.

I'm not really a fan of Kelis either but I'd have to say she's infinately more valuable as a musical artist than U2 are.

Yeah U2 aren't the greatest either but her music was tonedeaf garbage and her brand of music was of completely disinterest to the majority of the people there.

It's certainly an odd choice of support!
Little Buzz 06-11-2008, 13:13 It's like ugly people having uglier friends to make them look better, only with music :)

RegularJohn 06-11-2008, 15:22 Yeah i have them all original CDs and the kyuss/qotsa split CD aswell, i love them, seen them 13 times now and its still amazing everytime.
Its good listening to the Desert Sessions songs and when they do them for albums, nice subtle changes in there.

Tee hee - oops! Must not post on two hours fitful sleep!
I remembered who else I'd been subjected to - Snore Patrol at a festival! I managed to a)Go to the toilet b) Get some chips c) Go fetch beers hence only having to put up with about two songs. I missed the one I like though!
NEKRO138 07-11-2008, 08:49 Just remembered that I've also seen the Killers and Razorlight who are both utter, utter ****e.
EdnaKrabappe 07-11-2008, 16:40 Just remembered that I've also seen the Killers and Razorlight who are both utter, utter ****e.
Yeah I wasn''t impressed by the killers either but i don't hate them on record although i think the latest one is a middle of the road pile of poo. But yes the onstage charisma of flock wallpaper.
Kate Nash. She supported Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly! at the Leadmill just before she made it big. Thought she was crap then, and still do now

Yeah, knew about Lee. How sad.
Back to topic I saw Status Quo at the Arena about ten or fifteen years ago and hated them. Absolutely dire. Wouldn't have gone if ex-girlfriend hadn't persuauded me.
melthebell 07-11-2008, 18:15 i saw dodgy supporting ozric tentacles at sheff uni before they became big, they were crap, hated em, infact i never bought their early singles cos of it and now theyre worth quite abit :(
chinaski 07-11-2008, 19:08 When I went through my Death Metal phase I went to the Gods of Grind tour at Bradford - Carcass and some other bands along the lines of Blessed are the Sick, Necrophilia rules ok, Kill yer Gran the Whore. Anyway, half way through Morbid Angels set, after I'd got one too many doc martins scraping down the side of my face and another fat kid with an afro expected me to catch him, the lead singer made us all "do the sign of the inverted cross". I looked around and realised I had waisted the last 5 years of my musical life. I walked out and the next day I decided to get into Queen.
There's an argument there . . .
