Well even though there is no discussion (but a helpful thread title) we don't often do politics per se in the Knitting Forum, I think it is a pretty good likeness, and an interesting link. Probably won't be knitting it myself, as I am trying to use up some of my stash, and I don't have the correct yarns in!

Yes, it is. Threads started in which the first post contains nothing but a link are likely to be closed by the forum moderators, so Lisa's been rather good about keeping this one open.

Come on ladies. I know rules are rules, but the jumper link is interesting to us knitters.

Maybe it could be simply put in another thread with a few words.

I know the GL has a job to do, and does it well, but as long as rules remain consistent and posts don't get overly personal and degenerate, the Forum will remain somewhere folks will like to visit.

Thank you for that maramcp, but it's probably best to delete the post altogether now. I just thought it might be of interest to some, seeing as it was so topical. I didn't think it needed any explanation. Just thought it would make people smile on dull days like this. I really didn't mean to cause a fuss. Never mind. :(

Yes, that's it. Forum rules and guidelines are applied across the entire forum; no exception is made - in broad terms - for the forum groups, and in this case it has nothing at all to do with the thread's subject, and whether or not it's interesting.

Threads on the main forum are closed for the reason Lisa mentioned, though in this instance she was good enough to explain the situation and left the thread open.

I have decided to close this thread (as the Forum guidelines say I should, in addition to the OP's request) as although there could have been a good discussion things have gone a little downhill which is a real shame.
