Hi,

Ive just took Rocky to the vets for his booster and he weighs a whopping 5.58kg. He is a british shorthair so big anyway but this nearly 1kg more than my other 2. He isn't overweight-he is big and muscly (bit like a staffy).

I was just wondering the weight of oher peoples cats?-i bet the people with wegies or maine coones will beat this weight.

Lily hovers at around 4.4kg. She's a DSH Moggie so I have no idea what impact her breeding has on her weight, perhaps none.

She's visibly put on weight since being spayed and has developed droopy, swinging fat pouches on her abdomen. They don't look too great but according to the vet, are normal in cats that have been 'done'. We were concerned that she's a bit of a porker but we certainly aren't overfeeding her, she's just far less energetic than she was as a youngster.

Here's to cuddly cats!

I think little Smitch is only about 2kg at most. Can't remember when she was last weighed but she's a teeny tiny cat under all the fur.

Smudge is also quite small, but a bit heavier than Smitch.

7 kg bang on.

Yes I know he's fat, but even the vet has given up on his diet, he seemingly sucks fat and calories out of thin air.

Arthur is a little over 7kg and he's not overweight either- it's just he's got a serious sized frame for a cat and is rather muscular too. He's a British white short hair (and I think he's pedigree- he's got exactly the right shade of amber eyes and no markings at all)

My old girl Merlin was 8.5kg at her heaviest, due to the prescription diet she was on. The vet commented on various occasions that c/d is very calorie heavy and so virtually all cats on the diet get overweight, but since there's no low calorie or diet version there's no way of fighting the weight gain in cats which are prone to being a bit portly but also have FLUTD.

Tiffy weighs a little over 5kg, though she used to be a bit more when she was younger. She's a persian so she's quite stocky naturally.

Baby is 4.5kg and normal weight for her build.

Billy is about the same but is still growing and may get quite a lot larger as he's putting on muscle mass (he's about 15 months old).

Loki weighs over 4kg now.
He's 7 months old, so may have some way to go.
But I think he's small for a wegie.

Medusa, your Arthur must scare off dogs!
