I have only recently started listening to the joys of radio one in the morning. I have found myself looking forward to my car journey to work and listening to Chris Moyles.

He regularly makes me laugh out loud.

What do others think?

I always listen to him on the net during the day using the listen again section on the Radio 1 website. He makes work more bearable, I especially love Car Park Catchphrase.

"It's a horn of plenty"

For those who haven't listened to Car Park Catchphrase you can listen by forwarding to around 2 hours 50 minutes into the show on the listen again function on www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 . The first time you hear it you think "What the he$$ is this??!!" but after that it's funny.

Used to like him but now I find the people at Kiss much more amusing in the morning (and not so insulting and sexist) although I doubt you guys will be able to tune in as it is a London station....

The man makes me cringe. I hate him so much that I would like to see him put to sleep in a humane manner. :gag:

Much prefer the Phils on radio 6. They really speak my kind of music. And Phil jupitus is a proper comedian and funny man, and knows how to make funny quips and jokes

Agree, he's a right waste of air space and he's from Leeds!:o

Try listening to Radio Sheff in a morning with Toby Foster from 8.30.
He's the drummer in Pheonix nights, very funny and so local.

Is this Chris Moyles the scab who broadcast his show the other morning?

Id rather listen to the sound of my loo flushing on loop...actually, that could be kinda cool.

I used to be a big fan in the early days of the afternoon show, but since he moved to the Breakfast Show he hasn't been as good IMO. Carpark Catchphrase is always a good laugh though.

These days I much prefer listening to Scott Mills, the real saviour of Radio 1.

What I was getting at is that when workers of the BBC were on strike earlier this week he crossed the picket line and broadcast as per usual, where as other presenters didn't.

funny that, him not being a journalist and it being the journalists on strike. I was more suprised to here his usual news crew doing their bulletins, but then they are probably news readers rather than journo's.

The NUJ was the most prevalent union involved, but it wasn't a strike of just journalists.

And besides the fact he's a scab, he's about as entertining as scabies.

Chris isn't employed by the BBC, which is why he still did his show.

That is your opinion, not a fact.

Er, yeah sure it's my opinion...that's what the thread is about...."Chris Moyles, what do you think?"

And I still think there's a solidarity issue...and how comes he's not employed by the BBC? Not disputing this, just curious as to how it works when he's a BBC presenter?

its not just him that makes the show funny its the others around him, without them he'd probably get on my nerves. i like the BBC radio stations tho - no really really annoying adverts every 5 mins like the others.

I think Radio 6 is pretty good through the day....well, it's the nearest I can get to music I like that sits well with my work buds.

And I like 4 and 2 at times. On the whole I like the BBC.

I just wish people like Moyles and Whiley would go F**k off :)

They crossed the picket line, which makes them scabs, regardless of which union organised the strike.

Still crossed a picket line - still a scab.

Ah I like Chris.
The other month when he had Dustin Hoffman on, listeners were asked to text in questions for Aled or Chappers to ask My mate texted in "Can you ask him to speak up a bit clearer?" lol - it tickled the brekkie crew and me.
I like how he goes on about Um bongo

Then why say "besides the fact", when it's not fact at all.

[b]and how comes he's not employed by the BBC?
He is freelance.
