I have perfectly good beige fronted DVD-RW drive (DL and DVD RAM etc) but my new case is black - hard to get any other colour these days.
What's the best way to re-colour the drive front - permanent marker pen, blackboard paint - or something else ?

Buy a roll of black fablon from Wilko's or something - and cover it.
Don't forget to make a hole though.
take the front bezel off (its easy, but still be careful) and spray or paint it black.. (oooh, rolling stones ;)) -- job done.
some maskin tape and a can of black spray paint  ive done the same thing myself before now

They may do but I'm looking for a virtually nil cost solution ;) - thanks for all the other suggestions.
The annoying thing is this drive came with an additional black front. I put it in what I thought was a 'safe' place but it obviously wasn't safe from the resident tidy-upper. It's probably sitting on a shelf in some charity shop now like a lot of other stuff I was sure I had but could never find :(
or you could just buy a new black one

hmmmm, wear sunglasses, :hihi:
I'm with Ghozer on this one, done it myself. The front bezel will unclip and slide out, then you can spray paint it black. I've coloured in the front of a floppy drive with a permanent marker before, too - the best I'll say for that is that it works. Go for the spray paint, it'll look better.
Hope that helps,

Best thing to do is to get some dirt from a pig's trotter and smear it all over the front (but no the insides) of the drive.
Beige and black combo sounds good to me. Dude, just let it be...
Pop the front off and then just spray paint it .... or colour it in with a black marker pen :-p
