fierysatsuma 23-05-2005, 16:57 Hi, does anyone use the 'Compass' software from Accu-Chek, for infrared download of blood/glucose tests from the Accu-Chek 'compact'/'Active'/'advantage' monitors?
Just wondered whether it was worth purchasing..
Thanx

Yes i use the Accu-Check, mine was free, well covered by my insurance, insurances will gladly pay for testers like those and nebulizers, keeps people from having to get hospital treatment.
I find the Accu-Check not too accurate, you can do tests 2min apart and get different reading each time, although i've tried others and had the same problems, notdead on but close enough.
fierysatsuma 23-05-2005, 17:46 Thanks for that Poppins, - I was particularly interested in the software ('Compass') that allows you to download all the results to your PC, thus avoiding keeping a hand-written 'diary' of results for hospital..
Its actually for my wife who is diabetic - I understand once downloaded onto your PC you can use the data to look at 'patterns' of 'hypos' etc. Just wondered if the software was as good as it sounds before I buy it - Its about £40 including the infrared leads and USB adaptor, plus £22quid for the infrared monitor.

AllyMichelle, I was going to PM you, rather than post, but for some reason I can't.
Posting the same message on several different threads could be classed as spamming.
I know you are trying to get across a message about a diabetes support forum, but it really isn't necessary to post the message more than once.
AllyMichelle 20-02-2006, 01:35 We apologise everyone. We really did not know that. Thank u for letting us know, Ann_x
Now 15yrs on the shots 37 and 37 night,I think to download to a P.C is just so much useless info'.even if you wrote every morsel of food, type &time befor blood test,i dont think it could be analized correct.Ithink all monitors have their own built in com' to give you 3 or 6mth average,I know that the rare time i steal one my wifes choc's I've done wrong befor i even pop it in my mouth.
