was given a very large heavy fish tank, for some turtles for winter..

finally got some lads at my end, to help get it out of the van, and take it inside...

wasnt easy, at 5' long we couldnt just carry it in, had to stand it up, swivvle around corners and move stuff (the fish tank is in a heavy metal frame and the tank cant be removed)

We spend ages getting it in place...tooks ages but we did it....

i thanked the lads and i sat down to admire (to recover!!) the tank....but something was wrong...looking at it, it didnt look right...then it hit me

WE HAD BROUGHT IT IN THE WRONG WAY ROUND AND THE PAINTED BACK OF THE TANK WAS AT THE FRONT!!!

and all the lads had gone out..

so had to round up some more neighbours, half as strong, twice as useless. to stand it up and spin at around, all in the living room...

a few cuts/bruises (nothing broken or crushed) later it was done..now my bad back is really killing me....

yes i was the stupid one..i was in charge, i was the gaffer so i should have noticed....but i didnt.

oh well..

thanks to Jill and her hubby for the tank, and thanks to Magsie and Pee popping up, so nice to see you again, and hope you enjoyed hold and learning about the animals!

It would have been easier to scrape the paint off the tank! :hihi: Hope your back feels better soon.

It was great seeing you too Jules. Please anyone who can help Jules dig out his pond, please do offer help. Is there anyone out there works with a mechanical digger? It's too big a job for Jules - he's hit clay now and needs to get things sorted for his turtles. Jules does such good work - snakes, spiders, loads of reptiles, Arthur his dog, next door's cat - he is such a caring lad. Please help him if you can - he has a poorly back, a real injury and needs help so that he can help his outside animals get through the winter. x

its had to go in the living room, not a chance of getting upstairs! hehe
