you will have to get a friend to fit it.
no corgi engineer will fit it as it is deemed an illegal install to fit a back boiler due to there inefficiencies and latest regs regarding natural gas appliances that can be fitted in a domestic dwelling.

here is a thread from earlier this week.

and no it wont pass the exemptions test. the government do not want inefficient open flued appliances in houses anymore. :)

the only way round it is to repair the old 1 with the parts from the new 1 . :)

As John says. Also good luck finding a corgi engineer that will fit you a second hand appliance. why not get an energy effiecent one ?

also remember to replace the liner too. they should be for the life of an appliance and as your fitting a new appliance the liner needs replacing or at least removing and inspecting.

its never as easy as it looks i am afraid.

do the energy efficient ones have to be on an outside wall? if so can they be in a garage which is built onto the house as this is the only outside wall available unless it goes in a bedroom.

any out side wall, but many have fluing options up to 10 metres .. or even vertical flues.. so there is always an option. available.

what type of house its it at s12 ?

its a 3bed semi but it has garage on side and a timber extention/coservatory to the rear the garage is about 1m shorter in lenth than the house but in that bit there is a window.
