I'm keeping it zipped
The last thing Doglost needs is somebody upsetting what they're trying to achieve, but does anybody here think this 'owner' is in the least bit interested in the dog they've been scammed out of, or are they plucking at the heartstrings of genuine dog lovers in an attempt to claw back the £1500-£2000 pound they've just been 'done' out of, having tried to deal a dog as a commodity instead of breeding to order and homechecking properly
boy would I love to know if this litter had genuine papers
(no mention of the KC being notified to prevent re-registration)
When there are genuine loving owners missing their dogs, this report makes my blood boil
someone has made a comment at the top thats very true about her been sold on again even if shes found. its very sad how it seems to come down to just money. weve just had one of our adopted dogs go missing down south, they used dog lost and sadly she was found dead 3 days ago. annax
cuddlycats 02-11-2008, 11:48 Mmmm. I understand what you are saying, but you don't really know this lady so i don't think its fair to make assumptions of her. Just as she is a breeder it doesn't mean she doesn't love her pups. Yes she would sell on again, but she has got every right to worry that someone who would steal the puppy is not going to act in its best interests.
I know alot of people on here are against dog breeders-but it's wrong to assume all these people have no hearts. (I agree some are money making machines, but like i said, you dont personally know this woman to say she has no right to be upset).
I didn't say she has no right to be upset, and I am FAR from being one of those people who disapproves of all breeding
I'm all for responsible breeding, which isn't evident in this situation
The main concern for a dog swiped in this fashion would be that she'd be used for breeding unregistered pups which would be flogged in an irresponsible fashion... which is what the 'breeder' is doing anyway
*shrugs*
Anna - I read the whole 'thread' on Meg - very sad  RIP Meg
Or... we don't know anything about the breeder, and playing devil's advocate here, someone contacts them, finds out that they're going to bring the puppy to them instead of potential owner making their way to the breeder (alarm bells start ringing to potential owner) finds out perhaps that no health tests have been done, and maybe some other info that makes them think 'farmer' and decides to get puppy out of there and teach said breeder a lesson.
Potential Owner isn't going to fuel breeders like this so takes counterfeit money to 'save' pup.
I mean come on! How many people have bought a pup they felt sorry for?? I've heard of people (and know one person) who broke in and stole a dog that wasn't cared for.
So maybe the thief in this case isn't going to care for the pup or breed from it they just wanted to save it and teach a puppy farmer a lesson.
Sorry - but I can't see why a thief would leave counterfeit money if no deal had been done and they weren't supposed to take the pup.
But then perhaps I'm in a cynical mood.
For the record, I have nothing against breeders but I have a major problem with puppy farmers. I can't understand how a breeder could get herself into such a mess because breeders don't meet up like that and if she really wanted to ensure the potential owner was serious she'd have said get a taxi!
If it is someone with the pup's best interests at heart who just got mixed up in this somehow and isn't a puppy farmer then hopefully she'll have learnt her lesson. Let the new owner work their way to you if they want the puppy so badly.
angellic 02-11-2008, 20:58 The question is if the dodgy guy had of given them real money would there still of been a problem...

That's what I meant  But your comment was so much better consolidated!
basically way i read it is they met up in some car park, guy handed over money and when they got home realised that its fake money and trying to get dog back! i really cant see the guy "running" off if he had money (even if its was fake!!!)

Apologies-i didn't realise you had to scroll to the bottom of the advert to get the full story. I just thought a potential buyer had gone to her house and ran off with one. My pregnant brain is making me dimmer than normal
In this case i now agree with you
it's not an easy site to navigate is it cuddlycats? When trying to scroll down the comments box and scroll down the page at the same time, I keep skipping past comments, so it took me a while to read every comment made
SpeedDemon 03-11-2008, 09:06 I also read the thread about Meg, that's so sad, bless her :(
