Have you heard of GreenZap? They are an online payment site (similar to PayPal), EXCEPT MUCH MORE REWARDING!! And...... instead of charging a percentage they only charge $1.00 per transaction!!!! Plus they are a worldwide service!

Their website launches June 1st, but you can pre-register now and earn some great rewards. Plus, if you pre-register now, you'll get
$25.00 for free Just copy and paste: go to greenzap.com and then type in wow25forfree to get $25.00 for free.

thought maybe this could save some people some money let me know if you have heard of it! Thanks, melissa

So somebody we don't know suggests we get financially embroiled in something on a website we've never heard of? :suspect:

'Nochex' are a good alternative and are trying to give paypal a run for their money at present.
Paypal are far too powerful, and also owned by ebay.
I wish an alternative to ebay could be established and supported, but can't see it in the near future.....

Strix is always frosty to new members that start threads like these due to a number of spammers in the past! :suspect:

I'm sure she didn't mean it :)

Not at all! But I know we have a few members on here who are far too trusting ;)
Just thought I'd point out that these things should be treated with caution

Welcome to another new person BTW :)

Hope you stick around. There's tons of stuff to get involved in on here, and we're usually first with all the local news too ;)
(not sure if you're in Sheffield though :( )

I think a lot of people underestimate the power of the Direct debit/credit...

Why would I want to pay a middle man to transact some cash I can do it myself... Paypal or that Greenzap thing are both just as useless as the other. There simply is no need for it !

I've use 'Nochex' once, on a mate's site who didn't want to create a secure section on his website. I didn't have to pay Nochex nowt though, and didn't need to register, just had to fill in my details as I do on let's say Dabs.com or owt.

I've heard there is soon to be a charity alternative to Ebay - you auction what you have to sell, same as ebay, but instead of the money going to you, you donate it to a charity of your choice.

Hasving made a few sales on Ebay I was suprised to learn that Ebay own PayPal so we are paying Ebay three times; listing, sale and payment! Seems a little unfair.

Does anyone know any equivalent cheaper alternatives? I am considering going down the cheques or transfer route.

This is a similar thing I signed up with recently:

I agree though, ebay are getting too powerful. They need real competition IMO.
