I have bought my daughter an ipod nano for xmas. through I-tunes, I have put some music on it for her, however, I have a couple of music video's and home videos in either avi or mpeg which wont 'send' to the ipod. Do I need to transfer them to another file type that is recognised by the ipod? If so, is there something on the net that is free which I can use to transfer/convert the files?

Handbrake is very good for converting dvds. Just pick the ipod default settings and then drag the, file produced into itunes.

Video's need to be MPEG4 and you can use PSP VIDEO 9 which I believe is free, if not then there are loads that are, just google 'free mp4 converter'.
