For some bizarre and unknown reason, my dog has just randomly noticed that there is in fact traffic on the road and seems to think that there are now lots of giant fast toys for him to chase and bark at.

I really don't know why he is doing this. He is going absolutely mental at everything that passes us when we are walking along the road and today he nearly managed to fling himself in front of a car. I have had him for ten months now and this has only been going on for about two weeks.

I would usually want to use positive training methods, but am thinking that anything would be better than him getting squished so all suggestions are really appreciated.

Can anyone help me?

He is frightend by them? find something you can carry to distract him from them, Badger is like this I just have to shake his tipbits tin and he is improving!!!

I have been trying to use treats and it works some of the time, but nothing distracts him when he's having a go at something. He's usually more distracted by toys, but pays no interest whatsoever when on the lead.

This is a nightmare. I live on a main road too so there's no way I can even avoid traffic!

we live on a main road too hun and Badger is nervous he does tend to bark at motor bikes but it did used to be everything he would bark at. the trick is finding something which keeps him distracted and eventually he won't bother with the distractions.

he needs a buzz coller before the problem worsens,or he gets flattened.

a buzz collar?!

I'll give you a bell tomorrow, we have most definitely exhausted positive training techniques so there's one more thing we can try before aversives and I have a feeling I know which aversive may work if it comes to it.

Thanks Lotti. Sorry I haven't replied to your text- no credit. Lol. Again. Use the last of it phoning the vets. That lump in his throat has actually got bigger! They're gonna have to biopsy it. Good job he's cute.
