PhilMurray 22-05-2005, 13:50 i get it after spicey food poppins 22-05-2005, 13:50 Originally posted by BoppinBruce Are you on any medication that could cause it? Yes i think thats one of the causes too, but it's getting worse, being a bit diabetic dosen't help either, sweet stuff during the day keeps me awake sipping water all night long. I look at it this way though, it could be a lot worse to what other people go through. brooksy 22-05-2005, 13:57 i find large amounts of alchol have the same effect? but thats me:heyhey: poppins 22-05-2005, 14:02 Originally posted by brooksy i find large amounts of alchol have the same effect? but thats me:heyhey: Yes, but thats normal, mines constant. leddi 22-05-2005, 15:40 The medical name for it is xerostomia, and it can be quite a bad condition.. not sure what causes it (or can't remember), it can be really sore and painful... you can get packets of 'fake saliva' from the doctor/dentist, if you have a pathologically dry mouth, but see if he/she/it has any other routes you could try first, as I can't think that one is too pleasant. dawny1 22-05-2005, 15:50 I too get Dry Mouth Syndrome but like someone has already mentioned it is usually after a night on the Vodka. You could also be sleeping with your mouth wide open causing it to dry up! SilentStatic 22-05-2005, 16:48 Originally posted by poppins I have dry mouth at night very often, always thristy, anyhow else have the same problem ? Yep. I'm thirsty generally, but even more at night. Sometimes I can keep drinking every few minutes but still feel thirsty. No alcohol or drugs causing it  poppins 22-05-2005, 16:52 Originally posted by leddi The medical name for it is xerostomia, and it can be quite a bad condition.. not sure what causes it (or can't remember), it can be really sore and painful... you can get packets of 'fake saliva' from the doctor/dentist, if you have a pathologically dry mouth, but see if he/she/it has any other routes you could try first, as I can't think that one is too pleasant. I once tried the fake saliva (salava) came in a spray can, tasted awfu and was very expensive, i threw it was by mistake, but im going to buy it again, thanks for the reminder, i had forgotten about it. I don't find my mouth sore at all, but i could strike a match on my tong in the middle of the night, sipping on water only last about 5 min the start again, well could be worse. drainpipe 22-05-2005, 16:55 Best get checked out for diabetes - dry moth can be one of the early symptoms. hazel 22-05-2005, 16:57 I too have a dry mouth at night but think it's caused by medication. The snag is it's beginning to affect my teeth, up to now no trouble as the dentist says saliva protects them. So visits to the dentist were no hassle. Different story now. hazel poppins 22-05-2005, 17:01 Originally posted by hazel I too have a dry mouth at night but think it's caused by medication.
