Hi all

I've have tried to get this password manager to run under vista for ages now. And have given up yet again. It allows access to my protected files on the USB drive. But all i get is the following message. "Please insert the device and run this utility as privileged user." As the device is inserted already. its catch 22.

The usb drive & password utility works fine under XP. Unfortunately my lappy has vista hp on it. Not getting much info from the web. So hopefully someone on here, may know a work around.

Thanks

Not sure of a work-around, but I use Truecrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/) for all my encryption, including USB sticks. It's free!

Right click the utility icon, click properties,
then go to "Compatability" - tick the "Run this program as an administraor" tickbox at the bottom and click ok

now when it runs (even if it runs Auto) it will prompt you with the UAC dialog (Unless you turned it off) Allow/Continue and you should be good to go.

Thats one of the things i have already tried. As well as trying to run on earlier windows versions, under compatiblity. unfortunately neither solution works. But thanks anyway.

Run the setup program as admin and in compatability (XP) mode, the one that installs the driver for the app and the key drive.

If i have followed you correctly. Still no joy. when trying to launch the exe file of the UDPV268 password manager file. No matter what compatiblity, or user/admin used. The same message appears , and the application fails to start.
