If it's still under warranty take it back to the Apple store at Meadowhall... they're always a great help. Maybe they could help even if it's out of warranty. If it's totally dead you can trade it in to get 10% off a new one. Alternatively UK iPod Repairs (http://www.ukipodrepairs.com/) is pretty good, I had a new screen from there before.

there's no sound from the head phones and it doesn't transmit sounds through my I Trip radion transmitter. Apart from that it works perfectly.

so no sound from the top 3.5 jack and the bottom port where the itrip connects presumably ?

As said above, hold down the centre button and 'menu' at the same time to reset it.

I've sent mine off there before. It's somewhere in Brighton, but it was back with me working within 2 days!!!

I've just bought a "faulty" Ipod on eBay the other day, my own fault as I didn't read the description properly :loopy:, where can I get it repaired cheaply? It's a 1st Edition 16 Gig Ipod.

Is it an iPod Touch Rich? Most mobile phone or computer repair shops do them now :)

Yes, it's a 1st Gen Ipod Touch, not likely to be an expensive repair is it?
