it has been mentioned about forum meets being in pubs and what if people dont like going into pubs, so i was thinking about a forum day out to somewhere like Blackpool or Alton Towers. I have arranged many large days out for my work to these places and they have all been good fun. thee days were pretty cheap as the coaches were full.. blackpool would be about £10-£15 for the coach. Alton towers would be more expensive but then thatseverything apart from food paid for.

so my question to you is...
if it was arranged for august september would you come on a forum day out? and which place would prefer,?

EDIT: i dint click the poll options properly can a mod ad one for me please,
yes-alton towers
yes blackpool
no

just show me reults

I'd possibly be up for something like that.. Maybe a trip to the seaside, or a major theme park such as Alton Towers or Lightwater Valley.

Are you thinking of coming over for it, poppins?

Maybe you could organise a UK trip for all the USA residents and we could have an international barbie ...

I personally wouldn't be interested in going to a theme park but maybe a trip to the coast, we could go to Blackpool for the lights!!! It'd probably take that long to arrange anyway :D

only thing that has held me back arranging things in the past is getting the money off people!! like trying to get blood out of a stone sometimes!

Neither.

The BBQ or some form of picnic would appeal to me.

Somewhere local where poeple can get there under their own steam, where folks can spend as a little or as much of the day there as they like, etc.

But, for folks who like the organised approach, why not organise it and get it going? As someone who is involved in a few small forum-related gatherings, the one thing that I've found difficult is the conversion of people expressing an interest in to bums on seats, even when money isn't involved!

Good Luck!

Joe :)

Me and Duffman were going to arrange the Sheffield Forum BBQ because Duffman works for the council and reckons he could get permission for us to have on Devonshire Green but it's not been confirmed yet.

I think when I started the whole BBQ idea it was just for a bit of fun i.e a few forum friends, bbq food, booze and music :D

So, that's what I'm going to stick to ;)

Anyone can else feel free to arrange a BBQ on a larger scale! :)

It was sooo much easier when I used to live on a farm because I could have parties as big as I wanted! My 17th house party consisted of a few hundred people :P

Prom night was the best though because we had a party out on the field under a marquee tent with the music up LOUD and loads of us getting wrecked on alcohol out of plastic cups :D

Why not just say anyone who fancies going to Alton Towers on a certain date make their own travel arrangements and meet up in the bar at lunchtime, and spend the rest of the day together.

Alton Towers is always a good day out, it's a 1.5 hour drive tops for those taking a car, or for those without a car there is the option of the train/coach package.

So, who wants to suggest a date....

alton towers is best out of high season, we usually go when it opens at start of year or just before it closes for the winter:thumbsup:

id just like to ask one think if i may....
why do we as a SHEFFIELD FORUM HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE THAN SHEFFIELD TO MEET? we must have loads of places in our own city where we have mixed intrest?? and yes i would be willing to meet for days out, but local history+places would be more interesting i think? for those members who like pubs etc; they are free to do so, so why not something new for all tastes and ages??:|
