I have a couple of framed photographs, one of Norton Church and one of Norton Hall, taken by H.J. Cherrington. They appear to have been taken around 1900, and the documentation of the time shows that there was a Henry J. Cherrington, photographer, based at 216 Holme Lane, Hillsborough; for example he's listed in White's commercial directory of Sheffield in 1901.

Does anyone know any more about Mr Cherrington, or for that matter does anyone have any other photographs by him?

Sorry I have no knowledge of the gentleman, we used to go to Fred Naggs in Pitsmoor, just doesn't have the same ring to it, but we thought he was the bees knees

Yes, we found him in the 1901 census as well. Strangely he seems to be separated from his wife Hannah (nee Ryley) for some reason as she is a housekeeper in Grimsby at that point. I also tracked him back through to the 1861 census. It's coming forward from 1901 that's the tricky bit. Anyone know anything about him after that?
