I ask this because iam trying to set up my sons PS3 so i dont have the hassle of doing it on Christmas day ...

I have just run an hardwire from the router to a hub in his room with them plugs into his PC and now his PS3 ..

In the living room i have got my PS3 hardwired into router ..

The problem iam getting is COD4 .. its been a pain .. it wont let me play LAN games or even connect both PS3s to the online games .. i have messed with the router but still nothing ...

We have however played Calling All Cars online against both machines and it was fine .. Calling All Cars been the only other online game i have that i can play from both machines ...

Reading the internet it sounds like COD4 can be a pain in the backside for 2 machines on one router ..

Turn on UPNP in the router, and set manual IP's in the PS3's configuration..

and yes, I think alot of CoD4 srevers only allow 1 connection from 1 IP, I know this is the case on some of them on the PC, I have encoutered it before (but not often)

what it sounds like is when info is sent back to the router for COD4 it then cant decide which PS3 to send the info to ... We tried Rainbow 6 on it the other day and it worked perfect .. so it must deffo be COD4 .. i even called Virgin Media to see if i could get a 4mb broadband put in as well as my 20mb but they said its only 1 modem per house ...
