Since virtually all my posts are intended merely as a joke, I ought to point out that, for once, I am being serious! I am currently teaching a Science topic to my class of eight year old speshers. We have been watching some (fantastic) videos about animals in general, and need to move on to 'Birth, Care and Growth'. I thought it would be nice to get someone in who can show us some real animals, preferably with babies! So, if you keep snakes, pigs, chickens, sheep, dogs, cats and - this would be perfect - owls, and have some babies to go with them (of the same species, please - they are confused enough already thanks to me), please PM me and I can give you details of my school/how to contact me there etc...
I have seven children in my group and no less than four delightful assistants, so supervision is very good. They are very nice children and love animals. Several of them are autistic and one is blind. They do have some peculiar behaviours but are not running around going berserk or anything! They can be noisy at times, though.
Thursday morning (next week if poss) would be ideal, but anytime during the week - before or after the half term holiday - is fine, except Monday and Wednesday mornings and Tuesday afternoons, which are 'fixed' attractions. If you have never visited a special school before and can make it for a brief er, visit, it's probably a good idea. But don't worry, they are a fantastic group - very charming and a great laugh. And they will be on their 'best behaviour'!
Oh, come on - it'll be fun!
