Because you don't have 'experience'. Employers don't care about skills or qualifications, they want you to have experience instead. No mention of how you're supposed to get that elusive 'experience' in the first place though

there are lots of ways to get experience - perhaps you did work experience through school and can provide a reference from that.
You could try doing a bit of voluntary work - employers like to see initiative and that people are willing to turn their hand to work

Well that post probably answers your question!!

You're looking for a job, but you are more concerned with your looks/appearance than providing an employer with any information they would want about you. :shakes:

No qualifications or experience?

An ickle banner that says "want a job in sheffield?"

Cazzie have a look in the 'jobs available' section, e-mangroovin has posted two and they sound as if they are the sort of thing you might be looking for?

Good luck

My advice is to write using better English. If you use "im" in place of " I am" or "I'm" then, regardless of how clever you might be in person, you will put off employers. In that one short post there are at least 15 errors out of 39 words. Clearly a forum is a place where some people are relaxed about their English but you shouldn't make this many mistakes if you might want someone who reads your post to offer you a job.

PLEASE ! - "Your advice" - More like your kick when some one is down - This is a 17 year old posting a question on a website. If silly old fools like you spent a little more time encouraging, (rather than acting like the overly pedantic, error counting, fool that you appear to be), I am sure fewer young people in this world would go astray.

You can count my mistakes if you like but were really not interested - go and play with your Barbie instead or go and get excited over some trains at Sheffield Station!

All I can say Cazzie that I wish you the best of luck in finding employment. If it does not come straight away, then do not get downhearted. Ignore people that try to put you down, they should be congratulating you for wanting to find work.

Hels

The post by KenH was not 'kicking her when she's down' it was constructive criticism in my opinion.

As was said, it is normal for people on a forum such as this to be more relaxed about their written English but if one is trying to get a job then a large number of grammatical errors is not going to impress anyone.

Cazzie asked for help - and that's exactly what KenH was trying to do.

First impressions count for a geat deal in the search for work and this could be Cazzie's opportunity to make a first impression, let's help her get it right eh?

davididreal

Hels - OK so spelling and grammar are important in creating that first impression, that I accept. I am sure you agree that delivery and attitude are equally important, if not more so, in work as well as in life in general.

I felt that Ken was being harsh on someone who is at least trying and showing some initiative. A persons spelling and grammar could be first class - if they delivery it like I feel Ken did or with the wrong attitude, then that is all that people are going to see.

Anyway, enough with all the negative stuff, I don't come on here to make enemies.

Caz - I hope your taking it all in and that it help you in you quest!

this entire thread is probably a waste of our collective time as the OP has only made that single post, there's no evidence he's been back to see what our responses have been...

sorry - appear to be wrong about that, so ignore me.

Davididreal, I wasn't attempting to kick someone when they were down. I was trying to point out that being so careless when you are asking for a job is a bad idea. The title of the post is "why won't anyone employ me?". This is a question so I answerred it. The fact is that I have interviewed and employed a considerable number of people over the years and anyone who wrote an introduction with English like that demonstrated by the poster wouldn't get an interview.

There are a number of similar attribiutes that also seriously affect whether someone gets and interview but, in this PC world of ours, we aren't supposed to care about them. For example, we aren't supposed to care if someone comes for an interview with a ring through their nose yet most employers are likely to be middle class white males and so they will care. If asked a question such as "SHOULD having a ring through your nose affect whether you get a job?" - I would say NO. IF you ask me "WILL it affect whether you get a job?" - then YES. This is the same for poor English (and this example was very, very poor,) where you might say "don't kick him/her while they are down" but the fact is it will seriously affect their chances of getting a job.

I make that at least 12 errors.

However, with this immature attitude, I suspect that cazzie_1987 will soon be looking for a another new job, and then another, and another.......until she eventually grows up. Erm, eventually, or should that be hopefully?

Suggested Amendments to this CV :

1. amend typo "almost 18" to read "almost 11"
2. delete "polite", insert "rude" and add "pig ignorant"
3. delete "amicable". Leave blank.
4. delete "Im {sic} a quick learner", insert "I'm a slow learner with an arrogant, offensive attitude, and totally devoid of manners"
5. after "any one help me?", add "as I am sorely in need of it"

Lastly, after "love to be set challenges which i {sic} always achieve" I challenge you to obtain a personality and apologise for your foolish, immature name-calling of KenH. With your attitude though, I don't actually think that you are up to this challenge.

It would be nice to be proved wrong of course, but sadly, from your last post, you've a lot of growing up to do to meet this real life challenge.

May I wish you well in your new job - and also your employer and workmates. Do keep us informed how long you lasted in your new job.

May I begin by congratulating you on finding a job Cazzie - well done.

I am really pleased for you. I am also very pleased you managed to prove the sad people wrong.

I ask what is the world coming to when so many have nothing better to do than slate others for trying? The silly thing is these are probably the people who moan loudest when they hear about people who sit at home and don't bother! Is it that they lead such sad existences that they obtain some sort of sad satisfaction from putting others down? Do they obtain feelings of short lived self importance from it? Could it possibly be that they are such miniscule, insignificant individuals that to do so makes them feel elevated or worthy? I honestly don't know......... but I do think so.

Ken I read your reply with interest - you do have a point and I feel given your reply that your comments were probably made genuinely and with Cazzie's interest at heart. Perhaps harsly yes, but then I do feel I have to hold my hands up and admit that some of my comments were possibly made in haste. So lets declare it a 1-1 Draw and a truce ?

Robbo - Hmmmm. What can I say? Read my comments above, take a look at yourself, and ask if you are one of those I describe? If you don't think you are then look at the facts - In your fifties, slating a younger person for your own gratification, averaging 12 posts a day (over a thousand in less than 3 months), and you signature simply speaks volumes about you! Sheffield is a City, you ought to leave for something smaller since you are clearly depriving a village of its idiot.

Anyway I am off to bed now I went out last night and only got in about two hours ago! Hey Ho such a hard and boring life I lead...........Innit !!!!

I make it 12 errors in this post whereas the previous one had 15. This is an improvement of 20%, well done Caz!

I also think it is worth pointing out that, although her posts are still virtually iliterate, this doesn't matter as much when she is simply insulting people. If you are looking for a job then 15 errors over three sentences would be very poor. If you are simply writing insulting rubbish then the number of errors doesn't make much difference other than making the insults hard to read.

prove them wrong dear.

Come back at them with
- a really well thought out argument
- correct spelling and grammar

and let your skills do the talking.

What sort of job did you get Caz? Hope it's a good one!
