I am a DJ that is willing to pass on my skills and knowledge of music and DJing.

If anyone knows anyone wanting to learn the skill of DJ, I will be able to give them lessons. These lessons will be very cheap and suitable for all kinds of people and ages.

This is because I have noticed that there is a lot of people out there that are interested in htis hobby and have purchased decks and vinyl but are unable to use them effectively. This is where I can help.

For info ring 07818223893 or PM me.

a tip when you first start it to try to beat match with both channels up- rather than trying to do it in the headphones, then once you have got the hang of it move over to head phone mixing.

how about matching the speeds of the record first, thats more important than having both channels up. But apart from that its just practice and even more practice, but dont worry its a piece of ****!

No mate- you don't need to match thespeed of the records as some have faster beats!! you need to slow down or speed up one of the records so the beats match- not the speed, and its easier to do this if BOTH beats are coming through the speakers - rather than trying to do it through the headphones to begin with!!!

"No mate- you don't need to match thespeed of the records as some have faster beats!! "

u do mate - thats what its all about.
and if the records are completely different speeds then your using the wrong records. although certain genres do fit together if you try. Such as D&B and HipHop

its easier through the headphones, as that way you can determine what is what. when both tracks are playing through the same speakers its hard to tell what is happening, unless you know your records well.

eh??

Well if every record is the same speed why bother having decks that go to +8 and -8? What would they be used for?

I play trance and you can easily have 1 record on +1 and another on +3 you just use that to speed up or slow down the record so it matches the beat of the other one.

what are you on about you nutter? who ever said that every record is the same speed???? i was stating that some records will not mix due to the diff speeds, ie diff genre, in which case you are using the wrong records.

Do you actually know what you are talking about scottf? or are you just being argumentitive?

I have been mixing for over 6 years mate so i think i know what im talking about mate!!!

and if this guy is trying to mix tunes that are totally differant genre's then i think he will need more than a few tips from the internet- he needs a hearing test :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

very true! although as i said some genres do fit together perfectly. Though with trance and such dance styles ur pretty limited to dance music only. So are yo a big trancer? do you play out?
