Hi fellow foodies.

As I posted before I am going all out making Christmas gifts this year. I have found this site:

I have found this website which sells quite a range of bottles and jars. I want to make an order however the minimum spend on goods is £25 and I don't need that many bottles and can't really justify buying that many at the moment.

I was wondering of anyone was wanting to order some stuff and come in on postage toagther too?

The link to tthe site is below :

which sell a range of bottles and jars at what seem to be decent prices (you do have to add VAT though). However you need a minimum goods order of £25 before VAT and postage, and I just don't need that many bottles and can't really justify the money to stockpile at the minute.

Does anyone else who is making foodie gifts want to come in on an order to reach the minimum order and split postage?

I could well be interested in this. I'd be interested in some jars for oils maybe (could put in some olive oil with flavourings as presents maybe?) and some candle holders (I have some coloured sand wax though I'm not sure how to stop them spilling when wrapping them up!). I'd probably only want about 6-10 of each though. You know there's no minimum order in the 'small orders' sections?
How much do you think you'll spend? And can I poach some of your ideas for homemade presents?

i've not checked the prices on your link, but I have bought jars from here http://www.freemanharding.co.uk before, as they were, at the time at least, the cheapest even including the large postage cost.

Hi guys - sorry have already ordered, found a few other things that made a bit more sense to stockpile.

There is no minimum order on the small order menu but the bottles are almost twice as much!

Thanks procrasin8r - I'll check that one out, if they are cheaper I'll try them next time.

Just checked and they are cheaper, but for the stuff I got they are not as nice - do have some nice jars though

And of course you can take the ideas... I'm sure they are not unique!

For flavoured oils I will gently heat the olive oil (I use non extra virgin cos it seems worng to try to add flavour with such a strong flavour of its own) with what ever flavouring in - I'm using chilli, garlic and basil (3 seperate oils obviously!) But you could use sun dried tomato, lemon (make sure you only use the yellow skin, not the pith), other herbs.

I'm going to present them with a piece of the flavouring in too - a sprig of Basil, clove of garlic or what have you.

Yeah that was what I was thinking of. You can buy bottles of oils with roasted peppers, garlic etc. in shops but I'm sure it'd be cheaper and nicer to make your own.

That's what I thought too... also some of them don't have the greatest flavour.

Just had a thought - maybe a black pepper one would be good!
