cant help but feel that all this media exposure will make it worse.

Not been on receiving end, but was informed today by a police officer who was addressing our class that the offence carries a fine of up to £2500 or three months in nick. Same goes for the craze of 'decking'.

:rolleyes: So after a hard days happy slapping and putting pegs on people do the youths go daisy-chaining..:hihi: in my days all the fun we got was drinking cider in the peace gardens fighting with the mods (not the forum ones)

I haven't seen this particular idiotic pastime and hope in many ways that I never do as I'm not sure whether I'd manage to restrain myself from either thumping the fool or even better getting hold of the camera phone and smashing it.
I would imagine that this is the sort of thing that Tony Blair and his government are keen to put a stop to so let's hope we'll soon be seeing the media rather than making it out as a bit of youngster high jinks will instead be showing kids having their camera phones smashed.

A teaching friend of mine saw saw someone getting beaten up before school whilst someone filmed it. They ran before she got there.

I've heard that they will soon be able to activate these cameras without your consent. The software isn't far away for them to make these phones mobile independant surveillance cameras.

Then the "happy slappers" can film all the illegal activity they like and expect to be prosecuted the next day.
