After getting over the euphoria of attending the marvelous SWFC v SUFC match last weekend it has consequently hit me that the choice of half time entertainment was probably the most ridiculous in history.

A display of combat techniques including the effective use of baseball bats to inflict injury was hugely interesting - but probably not the best choice given the love that is absent from such an occasion.

Has anyone got other votes for the most ridiculous half time displays in history?! - surely this is the winner?

This was probably the best half-time entertainment I have ever witnessed. Done by a thoroughly professional team of Royal Marines it was a highly polished display that had both sets of fans applauding throughout. A regular routine for them:

If you want ridiculous half-time entertainment then look no further than Twin! (Parental guidance recommended):

See above Corky my old china. It was v Barnsley, and it's the "Twin" clip. We had that silly "Balls Of steel" moment last season at the Lane. That was v Barnsley too. Maybe there's a link.

Oh, how we laughed.

Just remembered another half-time display from the dim and distant past...

Way back in the early 80's I think, Sheffield had got itself an American football team and they were doing some promotion work. This included a half-time performance at Hillsborough. After a couple of minutes of them throwing the ball one way, kicking it the other and total lack of interest from the crowd they left the pitch to a chorus of boos!

I was going to mention Twin as well.....we loved the announcement that they'd just returned from their record breaking tour of Latvia or somewhere and apparently we'd only suffered the first half of football because what we'd all really turned up to see was...................."TWIN!!!!!"

Best thing to do at half time is go for a beer and a pie then you dont have to watch the tripe they put on!!

IMO it was when a Barnsley based Spinal Tap tribute band called Saxon came to Hillsborough tried to get the world record for most people playing air guitar together.

Cringeworthy!

I suppose playing air guitar might be welcome therapy for those still awake at half time.:hihi:

Still it makes a difference from the full time shoes off in the carpark at the sty in S2 which follows two or three consecutive defeats.

years ago went to loftus rd.police gave a display inc a'thief' running across the pitch, chased by police dogs. Some numpty thought it was for real, ran on the pitch and was promptly bitten!
More entertaining than the 2nd half though!
