i had i similar prob due to the router only having 4 ports in total if i then used a Ethernet it then removed one of the already installed items to make way for the new device hope that makes sense

yes but you only have 4 ports on the router ever Fifi or Ethernet = 4 ports

1 ethernet
3 wifi
=4
hope that helps

..I know this is probably a daft point, but have you set up the preferences in the printer software to search for the router wirelessly and also with your wireless encryption passkey if you use one?

I have an Epson wireless printer and it generally works well through my Belkin router.

Try setting WIFI up on your computer....it needs ethernet cable to communicate initially but then should be independant.....try wiping and re-running disc.

I have the same problem and I have found that the software disk actually assighns an adrress one number up from the available ...eg laptop 192 168 2 2
to 192 168 2 3
but when i went into the mps manager user admin password 1234 on the wireless icon when opened the unit is address 192.168.2.4 i changed this but then found that the channel number is 0 and there is no way to change this ...as most routers use channel 6 or 11 I suspect this is why we cant print wifi// according to epson this is a problem and you guessed it please send back....I have also been onto edimax and they are trying to bottom this I hope this helps as this is not your fault/////

I have the same problem to with the epson sx405 and edimax print server
- it seems that when you disconnect the printer server it from the router it cannot reconnect wirelessly - i have ran through all of the installation rules 3 times and although the printer connects fine to my comp via usb, and fine to the network via ethernet cable - whenever i try to find the printer wirelessly it wont find it. when looking at the server box the wireless led has a steady flash mode which i would assume is its search mode. Is it not saving the information that it needs to know its access point on the router?

I have done the following and still cant get it to work -
1st i have used the mfg server app to set the ip addy etc for the server - when using this when the printer is plugged into the router everything works fine - then i unplug............no server.

2nd - i have reset the server - opened the server settings in fire fox - type 192.168.2.2 into the address bar (i found this by opening my router 192.168.2.1 and checking the dhcp client list - this listed the router as using that address). I then set up the server to use the address 192.168.2.70 and saved it. when i tried to open the settings after this using the ip 192.168.2.2 it couldnt find it - so i entered 192.168.2.70 and it connected to the server - when i unplugged.........nothing.

a few questions i would like to ask.

When the server is plugged in to the router and takes an ip address, does the server keep this static address and when trying to locate the server use the same address? If so does the router re-open this address when you unplug the router or does it keep this assigned to that address of a wired item, therefore conflicting that specific address?

Everytime i set the print server to be wireless enabled instead of auto - the router will not detect it wired or not. Does this mean it has not set itself up to be connected wirelessly?

Does it matter what type of encryption you are using on your router because it seems to be giving the same message regardless of whether or not you set the password correct or not and i dont want to diable the security on my router as somone will be on there 2 secs after i dissable

Hi all
Im really really stuck, is there any chance anyone could copy the utility software that came with the Epson SX405 for the wifi. I cant seem to find it anywhere on the net and Edimax PS-1208MFG. Ive lost the Disk that came with it.

Thank you in advance

On my brother wireless printer, as well as the router setting up access, you also HAVE to set up the IP address of the printer on the printer - and it can't be done through the software, have to do it on the printer itself.

I had to reinstall windows on a client's machine once and they had an HP wireless all-in-one jobby. Can't say if this is the same for Epson. BUT you had to install the software first, then connect it using a usb cable to a usb port on the computer and during the installation it asks if you want to enable the printer to be wireless!

Sorry if this is up the wrong tree!

Can't it be setup for DHCP and let the router assign an ip address to it? if not and you have to do it manually then you might have to add its manual ip address to the DMZ on the router (if it indeed has one). All the wireless bit has to be set up via usb first, it wont just connect as it has to know what router to connect too. Select your SSID, run through the process and it should be it. I suggest you download the software from the epson website.

Also to note that having 4 ports on the router has absolutly nothing to do with the max amount of devices that you can connect to your router.
