View Full Version : I think I'm getting flu
:( I think I'm coming down with the flu.
The trouble is I have a disease which my immune system's always fighting which means if I get a cold, I get the flu, I also ALWAYS get tonsillitis :( because my immune system doesn't fight it.
At the moment I'm sat in my French lesson with neck ache mainly but all my bones ache, I'm hot, but cold without my jacket, and have a banging head ache :help:
I feel so crap! Just wanted to share that with you!
And now to make matters worse, my right temple has joined in the banging!
I hope I'm ok for next week's exams...
water is ur friend! i sense u are strong and u can take it!! :)
I've just about got rid of a nasty cold!
Going out last night didn't help though.
Thanks Ryan,
I probably am pretty strong it's just a bummer! Why is water so good?
Vitamin C! Have lots of vitamin C and stay active.. When I'm ill, I make it worse by being lazy! But I actually finally got rid of my cold this time by going training! Felt Ok after :)
water is good cos it basically flushes everything out of ur system, drink 2 litres and it guaranteed to go quickfast! and deffo gaz! eat oranges!
Thanks I take vitamin C every day anyway because I have an energy lacking problem, vit C helps with that!
I'm not very active though, I think if I did start getting active now it'd kill me! I've been ill and stopped all my dancing, tennis, badminton and I'm so unfit! By the way, can anyone suggest anything while we're here that'll get me fit again but is not swimming and non-impact? I have joint trouble that's why I can't do impact stuff!
Or, failing that, a knee and ankle support brand who actually support them well!
id recommend give a gym a try, i go to concord every sunday jus to keep the body in check after all the beer and bad stuff i seem to consume, so theres a range of things u can do, i think of it ive paid money so i gotta do something...? thats another way of getting ridda flu :)
Another substance to add to the list. Water & vitamin C are good starts, but try some Life Drops (http://www.greensfoods.co.uk/index.asp/page=item/itemid=2211/groupid=60/typeid=1049/LifeDrops.htm). Wicker Health Store did them last time I checked, fantastic for anything like that.
Thanks Steev, will give it a try.
I have tried the gym before but I tend to push myself and have come away incapacitated for the next few days!

sparklesista 20-05-2005, 14:17 I've got a cold too :( I think it's starting to clear up now though!
Vitamin C, Zinc, Garlic and Red Wine usually does the trick for me ;)
(not forgetting to turn my bedroom into a menthol sauna by cranking the heating up and rubbing vicks all over my chest!)

Apparently you shouldn't excersise if you're ill! Your heart is busy pumping blood round your body to fight the cold and if you excersise you are adding more strain to your heart! :?
(Please quote me if I'm wrong but I will still ALWAYS be a lazy bum in bed when I have a cold :D )
Read your website Lotti, you've had a tough start to life - not sure what to say but i hope you get stronger and better :)
Don_Kiddick 20-05-2005, 21:17 antioxidents (+vitC) will fight off the free radicals that make you feel crap.
So, beetroot, peppers, tomatoes. red wine, garlic, will all help.
get well sooooon Lotti!
