Hi
Finally my computer has crashed- I'm no techie and have tried everything I remember trying to get the lost 'bookmarks' that the now-suddenly and mysteriously outdated version of Firefox had lost. System restore won't work past the 'restore' button (does nothing).
Somehow I managed to get the speedtouch restored to connect, that's about it, and am thinking of getting a new bloody PC etc.
Where's best to buy (£200-250?), and what type of computer?
Thanks in frustration.
Self built, or get someone on here (like me) to build you one, tell me what you want to use it for, i'll give you a base price, break down the costs and take it from there

Really? Thanks Ghozer.
In frustration I was going to go out tomorrow and just buy one, for speed! :(
But I merely surf in general (have tiscali 7Mbps on XP with 80gb, use Firefox), post on sites, download the odd media (;)) and msn etc, nothing heavy really.
Out of interest, what sort of prices do you usually generally charge? And how long does it take?
Cheers
So you dont do any heavy gaming?
If you want to save money you can use some parts from your old PC, such as Monitor, keyboard, mouse, possibly DVD Drive, Hard Drive, Case maybe.. but for a 'none gaming' PC, something simple but functional, you'd be looking at around £245 for the components including delivery (Case, Power Supply, Motherboard, CPU, Hard Drive (250GB), GFX Card, Memory (2GB)) and then there would be a little for the build (approx £30.. depends if you want the OS installing etc too)
However, you could probably shave some off that.
Don't include the Hard Drive (use your 80GB one), don't include a Graphics Card (use the OnBoard one at the expense of a little of your RAM) that would save you approx £60

Hmmm, so we're talking about £180(??) for a non-gaming, 80gb PC using many parts of my own? How long does it usually take?
Ok, I'll think it over.
once the parts arrive, to make sure its all working properly, and windows installed etc, a couple of hours.
Sure... Let me know :)

Cheers mate, I will
I'm frantically trying to fix this PC now- if it will! Oddly many of my programs ceased to work (Word docs, Msn, etc)
Running a registry clean and see what happens. I'll bear your offer in mind.
