I'm new to the area and looking for a nice restaurant in the Mosborough area - either a brasserie type place or an italian. Any suggestions? Has anyone eaten in the brasserie at Mosborough Hall?

Hi

I honestly don't think there's many decent places to eat out around Mosborough. I used to live In Eckington and still know it well, and except for a bacon buttie from TJ's cafe, I don't know of anywhere decent nearby. (There's the "Inn at Trowey" but that's getting mixed reviews.)

Mosborough Hall used to have a big reputation years ago, but I don't think it's regarded now, though I've heard it's had a makeover.

I think you may just have to try it yourself, and post back on here with a review.

Sorry can't be of more help. Maybe someone with better knowledge will be able to fill you in more.

Hi. I can't think of anything in Mosborough itself (although there's an Italian restaurant being built at the moment near the crossroads but probably won't be open for a while yet).

I've not eaten at Mosborough Hall Hotel, but have heard that it's good food.

Going the other way out through Mosborough there's The Mossbrook (on the same road just past the Mosborough Hall Hotel), carry on this road and you get to Renishaw - the Sitwell Hotel, then further on is the Mulan chinese restaurant, and then there's an Italian restaurant just opened at the Prince Of Wales hotel (on your right as you head up to Barlborough J30 M1).

Theres also a couple of good food pubs in Barlborough Village.

Coming the other way from Mosborough, there are a few pubs round Ridgeway, Marsh Lane & Troway - some of them are usual pub food, others are trying to be a bit more bistro style.
Oh and theres the Old Vicarage at Ridgeway which is a Michelin starred restaurant.

Let us know if you try any of them and what you thought!

cheers
